Strategic Quality Space in Littleton, CO has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quality Engineer (IC3). In this role you will help ensure the accuracy, consistency, and compliance of quality systems and data. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams in engineering, operations, and software development to implement quality standards, identify improvement opportunities, and support digital transformation efforts. This position is ideal for a quality professional seeking to broaden their skills in mechanical/software quality, data-driven decision making, and process assurance within a technically dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop & maintain Quality Management System (QMS) documentation (e.g., work instructions, control plans) in accordance with AS9100 / ISO 9001 and applicable MIL‑STD specifications.
Plan, execute, and evaluate inspections, audits, and non‑conformance investigations (NCRs, CAPA).
Create and maintain test and inspection procedures, data‑collection templates, and statistical analysis tools.
Analyze defect trends using root‑cause analysis (5‑Why, Fishbone) and drive corrective actions across cross‑functional teams.
Support configuration management by reviewing engineering drawings, change notices, and ensuring proper traceability.
Facilitate internal / external audits (e.g., CMMC, ITAR) and ensure timely closure of findings.
Provide training and mentorship to engineers and technicians on quality tools, statistical methods, and compliance expectations.
Generate metrics & dashboards (PPM, DPMO, first‑pass yield) for senior leadership and program reviews.
Participate in design reviews, gate reviews, and risk assessments to represent quality perspective and guarantee “build‑to‑spec” compliance.
Basic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
3‑5 years of quality‑engineering experience in space, aerospace, defense, or a high‑reliability industry
Hands‑on experience with ISO 9001 / AS9100, MIL‑STD‑1916, or similar standards
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD‑L, and configuration‑management data
Strong analytical/problem‑solving mindset
Excellent written and verbal communication (ability to produce clear reports and present findings)
Detail‑oriented, self‑starter who can work both independently and within cross‑functional teams.
Desired Skills:ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or willingness to obtain
Knowledge of APQP, PPQP, DFMEA, and FMEA processes
Knowledge or experience with Root Cause Corrective Action processes
Hands‑on experience with ISO 9001 / AS9100, MIL‑STD‑1916, or similar standards
Experience creating or maintaining quality command media or documented procedures
Green Belt or Lean Six Sigma certification
Experience supporting internal or external audits and process surveillances

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $81,600 - $143,865. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
