About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking an Investment Banking Associate with a focus on Software and Semiconductors for the Tech team within the Tech, Media and Telecom (TMT) group. This team is dedicated to building long-term relationships with decision makers (C-suite, Board) across the software and semiconductor sectors, providing strategic advice, deep industry insights, and flawless execution of complex transactions.
In this role, you will:
Participate in analyzing companies and client investments across the software and semiconductor sector
Make strategic recommendations to clients based on market trends, valuation insights, and competitive positioning
Identify opportunities for process improvements within the Investment Banking Program
Review and analyze market data, valuation models, and presentations that require research, evaluation, and independent judgment to guide medium-risk deliverables
Present recommendations for resolving business challenges and develop expertise in the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
Interact with internal and external clients, including senior executives and institutional investors
Required Qualifications:
2+ years of Investment Banking Program experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in software and/or semiconductor sectors within Tech
Strong understanding of industry dynamics, competitive landscape, and key valuation drivers in software and semiconductors
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
A Master's degree or higher in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field
Ability to make timely and independent judgment decisions while working in a fast-paced and results-driven environment
Knowledge and understanding of business development: business vision, strategies, and goals
Knowledge and understanding of capital markets: deal execution process and standards
Job Expectations:
Registration for Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
Registration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
Registration for FINRA Series 79 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
This position is subject to FINRA background screening requirements. Candidates must successfully complete and pass a background check prior to hire. Compensation Details:
Base pay: $175,000-200,000
May be considered for a discretionary bonus, Restricted Share Rights or other long-term incentive awards
