The Advanced Solutions team within the 1LMX data workstream is hiring an A/AI Machine Learning Engineer Sr to help develop our Generative AI products. The SEMPL solution is a groundbreaking effort to revolutionize Lockheed Martin's Software Engineering and Management Process (SEMP) and Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) using Generative AI and Data Science with application to the 1LMX deliverables. What You Will Be Doing:
In this role, you will play a critical role in transforming the way Lockheed Martin employees work by infusing Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions into existing business processes.
You will contribute to the development of the 1LMX AI Acceleration Products that drive acceleration, inform data-driven decision making, and help the organization stay ahead of the curve. This role will provide you with a unique opportunity to learn and grow in this exciting and constantly evolving space while making meaningful contributions to the team's efforts. You will be a part of the adoption process and iterate with continuous development, incorporating user feedback quickly and delivering for the fast-paced 1LMX scope.
Who You Are:
You are a motivated and enthusiastic engineer/full-stack developer with a strong foundation in software engineering, systems development, data science and AI technologies. With a start-up mentality and a growth mindset, you thrive in fast-paced environments, navigate ambiguity with ease, and are self-motivated to work independently.
Basic Qualifications:• Experience in software development, with a focus on full-stack engineering
• Coding experience with Python
• Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and/or Generative AI (GenAI)
• Experience with 1LMX programs
• Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle
• Experience with creating stories and working in Jira
• US Citizenship is required due to program requirements and system access

• Proven experience designing, developing, and integrating robust APIs
• Hands-on experience with Model Context Protocol
• Demonstrated experience building or leveraging knowledge graph based data science solutions (e.g., graph databases, ontologies, SPARQL, embedding driven graph representations) to enrich feature engineering and enable relational reasoning.
• Experience with cloud-based platforms and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with GitLab pipelines, OpenShift, and other related technologies
• Proficiency in additional programming languages, such as Java, C++, ABAP
• Understanding of agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, AI/ML or related field

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $125,100 - $216,890. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
