Leidos Defense Group is seeking a Unified Communications (UC) Administrator to support mission-critical Communications and IT services for U.S. Africa Command (USAFRICOM), U.S. European Command (USEUCOM), Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA), Southern European Task Force (SETAF), and associated organizations.
This position supports deployed warfighters by ensuring secure, stable, and resilient communications infrastructure in a mission-focused environment.
This is an unaccompanied position located in Djibouti City, Djbouti and requires an Active Secret Clearance to be considered.
Job Description Summary
Responsible for resolving IT hardware and software infrastructure (servers, network, security, etc.) issues using systems analysis techniques and procedures to ensure appropriate function of hardware, software or system functional specifications. Analyzes, troubleshoots and resolves issues with IT infrastructure including user systems, servers, storage and network connectivity. Provides system administration for assigned infrastructure and establishes and maintains security as it relates to users. Applies security patches and operating system upgrades to ensure the security and integrity of the technical environment. Maintains all configuration documentation for assigned infrastructure.
Responsibilities
A Unified Communications (UC) Administrator maintains integrated communication systems for an organization, merging various tools like voice, video, and data into a single platform. Their responsibilities include system administration, performance monitoring, troubleshooting technical issues, and collaborating with other IT teams to ensure seamless communication for users. They often work with specific technologies like IP telephony, video conferencing, and instant messaging platforms.
Administration and maintenance: Manage and configure communication platforms such as Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), and maintain high availability of services.
Troubleshooting and support: Resolve technical issues with voice, video, and messaging systems, and provide escalated support for users.
Performance monitoring: Monitor system performance and proactively identify and resolve problems to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
Collaboration: Work with other IT teams and vendors to integrate communications systems into existing infrastructure and troubleshoot issues.
Qualifications
Required
Certifications- CCNA or CCNP Collaboration and SEC+ or Security X/ CASP
Typically has a University Degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years of related work experience
Clearance level – Secret
Technical proficiency: Experience with specific UC products like Cisco's CUCM, Jabber, and other voice and video conferencing systems is often required.

- Networking knowledge: A strong understanding of networking principles is essential for managing and integrating communication systems.
- Troubleshooting skills: The ability to analyze issues using tools like packet capture software (e.g., Wireshark) and deciphering system traces is crucial.

Responsible for developing technical solutions that may require collaboration with internal expertise and deep analysis of the technical system.

Requires advanced understanding and ability to apply standards, principles, theories, and technical concepts obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project management.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $50,700.00 - $91,650.00
