Description:The Ground Data Systems and Services Organization (GDSSO) is responsible for the architecture, development, deployment, and operation of Ground Data Systems (GDS) across all customer programs. We provide secure, scalable, and standardized solutions for programs across the Commercial Civil Space line of business, serving as a centralized hub of engineering expertise that enables mission success through innovative, cost-competitive, technologies and services.
This position is for an early-career Systems Engineer providing systems engineering and operational support for the Ground Systems Integration (GSI) team of GDSSO in the Orion program. This position is in support of NASA's Artemis missions: Artemis 2, Artemis 3, Artemis 4, Artemis 5 and any future missions in development.
This position will support integration, verification, and validation of voice, video, and telemetry data systems into the larger Orion Ground Data System. In addition to adapting and modernizing existing tools for new missions, candidates will travel (< 25% of time, includes some short-term 2nd and 3rd shift) to support on-console and on-call operational activities during critical mission activities. Must be a US Citizen due to program requirements.

The primary responsibilities will include:
• Perform requirements baselining, development, verification, and validation
• Support software requirements development and formal verification development and tests
• Coordinating with GDS teammates and systems/subsystem engineers to define and refine interface requirements through design, test, and operations
• Develop, revise, and execute GDS procedures for integration, checkouts, and mission operations
• Lead operational support to spacecraft teams to deployed environments, including internally developed and 3rd party ground software. Includes ensuring real-time dataflows, data management process, querying processes, command building tools, and analysis tools
• Support troubleshooting of deployed ground system hardware, operating systems, and networks, coordinating with System Admins to resolve issues
• Understand spacecraft flight software and operations and how they integrate with the ground data system
• Assist in deploying and integrating software to operational environments, and provide operational support to systems and subsystems engineers within Orion
• Investigate opportunities to integrate AI into systems engineering and operations workflows.
Basic Qualifications:- Systems engineering experience and familiarity with requirements development, verification, and validation.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner to varying levels of teammates, management, and customers
- Strong user support skills able to directly address user concerns
- Independent problem-solving skills
- Experience with Linux environments and comfortable with basic Unix commands, utilities, and system administration activities
- Must be a US Citizen due to program requirements.

- Experience using Automation Framework
- Experience using OS/COMET
- Project management skills that involve working with multiple teams and developing project schedules
- Demonstrated experience supporting multiple projects simultaneously

- Experience working with NASA, specifically Kennedy Space Center (KSC) and/or Johnson Space Center (JSC)

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $73,400 - $129,260. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
