WEB SERVER ADMINISTRATOR
The Web Server Administrator is responsible for managing web server infrastructure to ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of web services. This role involves installing, configuring, and maintaining web servers, troubleshooting server issues, and implementing security measures to protect web environments. The Web Server Administrator is also expected to be available for on-call work to address urgent issues and ensure continuous operation.

● Installation and Configuration: Install and configure web server software (e.g., Apache, Nginx, IIS) and related components
● Maintenance and Upgrades: Regularly update and patch web servers to ensure they are secure and performing optimally.

● Monitoring and Performance Tuning:
- Monitor server performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) by proactively identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks and potential issues.
● Security Management: Implement and maintain security measures to protect web servers from threats and vulnerabilities.
● Backup and Recovery: Manage backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability in case of server failure.
● Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, procedures, and policies.
● Collaboration: Work closely with development and IT teams to support web application deployments and ensure smooth operation.
● User Support: Provide support to users and developers for web server-related issues and inquiries.
● Ticket-Based Support: Manage and resolve support tickets in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring user satisfaction.
● Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by effectively communicating with users and stakeholders, addressing their concerns, and providing solutions.
● Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline server management tasks.
● Compliance:
- Ensure that web server operations comply with organizational policies and industry standards.
- Maintain compliance with DISA (Defense Information Systems Agency) standards and guidelines.
● On-Call Work: Be available for on-call support outside regular business hours to address urgent issues and ensure continuous operation of web services.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

● Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree
● Experience: 3+ years of related experience
● Security clearance level: TS/SCI w/Poly
● US citizenship required
● Level II 8570 Certification (Security+ CE or equivalent)
● Role requirements:
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell).
- Strong understanding of network protocols, DNS, SSL/TLS, and web security practices.
- Familiarity with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Experience with monitoring tools and performance tuning.
- Knowledge of configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
