Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s TMNA Accounting and Finance Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Senior Analyst.
The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure accurate and timely preparation and delivery of financial results in conformity with US GAAP and IFRS while supporting department and company-wide initiatives to develop our business and grow internal capabilities
Reporting to the Manager – Accounting and Finance, the person in this role will support the BU Finance - After Sales department's objective to support the warranty recognition process.
What you’ll be doing
Support quarterly and annual forecast and budget processes, including warranty expense, accruals, and cash flow considerations.
Prepare month-end and quarter-end analyses, including forecast vs. actuals, with focused analysis on warranty claims, reserves, and key cost drivers.
Ensure all daily, monthly, and quarterly accounting activities are completed accurately and on time, including warranty-related transactions.
Perform timely preparation and/or review of journal entries, including warranty accruals, true-ups, and reserve adjustments.
Calculate, monitor, and analyze warranty reserves in accordance with US GAAP (ASC 460) and IFRS (IAS 37), incorporating historical experience, emerging quality trends, and management assumptions.
Partner closely with Quality teams at TMNA and TMC (Japan) to understand product quality issues, warranty programs, recalls, service campaigns, and field actions, and assess the related accounting and financial impacts.
Support the financial reporting process, including preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and required warranty disclosures under US GAAP and IFRS, as well as quarterly submissions to Japan.
Provide technical accounting guidance to internal stakeholders on warranty recognition, measurement, and disclosure matters.
Coordinate internal reporting materials and analyses for cross-functional and management review, including warranty metrics, trends, and performance indicators.
Propose and implement improvements to warranty accounting processes, controls, and analytical models to enhance accuracy, transparency, and efficiency.
Develop and maintain documentation supporting key judgments, assumptions, and estimates related to warranty accounting for audit, internal control, and governance purposes.
What you bring
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or other analytical degree.
Familiarity with US GAAP and IFRS.
5 years and more experience in warranty accounting, manufacturing accounting, and FP&A.
Strong communication, critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills in closing process gaps and resolving issues.
Proficiency with MS Excel and advanced functionality.

Mix of public and private accounting experience
Large company experience
Hands on experience with Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, or other reporting tools
