Overview
We’re seeking an experienced and highly skilled Lead HVAC Installer to oversee installation projects, guide installation teams, and ensure exceptional workmanship on commercial HVAC systems. Responsibilities
Installation & Technical Work
- Lead the installation of HVAC systems, including RTUs, Split-Systems, Chillers, Boilers, Cooling Towers, ductwork, ventilation systems, and related components
- Install HVAC systems and assist installers in the work as needed
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to plan and execute installations
- Perform system start-ups, testing, and commissioning to ensure proper operation
- Troubleshoot installation-related issues and provide effective solutions
- Ensure all work meets local, state, and federal codes, as well as company standards
Leadership & Project Management
- Supervise and mentor installation technicians and apprentices
- Assign daily tasks, manage workflow, and ensure projects stay on schedule
- Coordinate with project managers, builders, and customers to maintain clear communication
- Conduct quality checks throughout installation phases
- Maintain accurate documentation, including job notes, material usage, and system specifications
Customer Interaction
- Communicate professionally with internal team, contractors, and clients
- Explain system operation, maintenance requirements, and warranty information
- Address customer questions or concerns with clarity and confidence
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure team adherence to OSHA and company safety standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of refrigerants and other materials
Qualifications
- 5 plus years of HVAC installation experience, with at least 1–2 years in a lead or senior role
- EPA Section 608 Certification (required)
- HVAC technical school training or equivalent field experience
- Strong understanding of HVAC installation best practices, codes, and regulations
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in various environments (attics, crawl spaces, outdoors)
Preferred Qualifications
- 10 plus preferred of HVAC installation experience, with at least 1–2 years in a lead or senior role
- Experience with high-efficiency systems, smart thermostats, and modern HVAC technologies
- Sheet metal fabrication skills
- Experience with commercial installations
