Overview
The Business Communications Specialist Intern is responsible for translating the Real Estate Lending Platform Engineering team’s work into clear, compelling, and executive ready communication materials that demonstrate value to the business. This role partners closely with leaders and subject matter experts to create slide decks, one page summaries, and narrative content that articulate impact, outcomes, and strategic alignment.
This role is ideal for a strong storyteller who can distill complex initiatives into concise messages and present them in a way that resonates with senior leaders and cross functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Executive & Business Communications
- Develop high impact slide decks, one pagers, and written narratives for executive audiences
- Translate complex initiatives, technical work, or operational outcomes into clear business value and impact
- Ensure messaging is concise, consistent, and aligned with organizational priorities
Storytelling & Message Development
- Partner with stakeholders to shape the story, not just the slides
- Frame work in terms of outcomes, benefits, and return on investment
- Identify key messages, supporting points, and calls to action
- Adapt tone and depth based on audience (executives, peers, broader organization)
Content & Presentation Quality
- Own the structure, flow, and clarity of presentations and written materials
- Apply strong design judgment to ensure materials are visually clean, professional, and executive ready
- Maintain templates and standards for decks and one page communications
- Edit and refine content for clarity, brevity, and impact
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with leadership, program managers, analysts, and technical teams
- Ask the right questions to uncover insights and clarify intent
- Incorporate feedback while maintaining message integrity and quality
Qualifications
- Proven experience creating executive level slide decks and concise written communications
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills
- Strong proficiency in PowerPoint, Visio, Adobe Express/Canva and document tools
- Ability to synthesize complex information quickly and accurately
- Strong attention to detail and high standards for quality
- Comfortable working with senior leaders and handling sensitive information
Desired:
- Experience in business communications, corporate communications, strategy, marketing, or a related field
- Experience supporting internal teams (strategy, technology, operations, or product)
- Background in consulting, strategy & operations, or internal marketing
- Familiarity with executive communication best practices
- Basic data literacy (ability to interpret metrics and translate them into insights)
- Experience developing communication frameworks, messaging guides, or playbooks
