Position Description
Under the direction of the Director of Operations, has overall responsibility for the scheduling and workflow planning of the entire manufacturing process of the facility.
Essential Job Functions
· Manage ERP system’s materials module to meet supply chain conditions, manufacturing needs and resources, and customer delivery schedule.
· Create and maintain the MRP templates and setup as well as to perform MRP adjustments as needed.
· Drive Manufacturing work centers by issuing work orders timely and following up on orders completion.
· Create and maintain a master schedule in MRP that honors manufacturing constraints and delivery date promised to customer.
· Optimize production sequences to maximize production asset utilization and minimize delays.
· Responsible for scheduling and releasing of engineering change orders as they pertain to the manufacturing process.
· Ensure proper functioning of all scheduling related software applications by maintaining accurate parameters, planning factors, and system master data.
· Assists production staff with issuing work based on needs of production schedule, input from team leaders, and customer priorities.
· Assist the Production Supervisors in estimating job cost to provide timely and accurate project cost reports; identify reasons for low job productivity and determine impact on the project.
· Acts as a technical resource to Sales, Engineering, and Customer Service; Provides feedback in design for manufacturability, time studies, project mapping and scope.
· Advocates and drives the use of Lean tools such as 5S, Kaizen, visual management, standard work, lost time analysis, autonomous maintenance, etc.
· Continuously works to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
· Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
Skills and Abilities Required
· Reasonable knowledge of engineering principles and practices related to manufacturing systems
· Solid mechanical and/or electrical aptitude (e.g., deals with a variety of hand and power tools, as well as large equipment, schematics)
· Must be a self-starter and work well without supervision
· Solid organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
· Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in related field, or minimum 2-4 years’ related experience.
· Experience working in Union environments is preferred.
· Experience working in heavy manufacturing of low volume high mix is highly desirable
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
