Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Working Superintendent with a strong background in structural steel fabrication and erection. This position requires hands-on field leadership to oversee daily operations on commercial and government construction projects. The ideal candidate is capable of supervising crews, coordinating with project stakeholders, maintaining safety compliance, and ensuring quality execution while also being able to step in and perform work when needed.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coordinate, and supervise all on-site steel erection and fabrication activities.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and shop drawings.
- Ensure structural steel is installed per plans, within tolerance, and per industry and project standards.
- Manage erection sequences, rigging, and critical lifts with emphasis on safety and productivity.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and general contractors to maintain schedules and resolve field issues.
- Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce compliance with all OSHA and project-specific safety standards.
- Maintain and track daily logs, progress reports, manpower, and equipment utilization.
- Identify material shortages or fabrication issues early to prevent delays.
- Ensure welding, bolting, and field adjustments meet QA/QC requirements.
- Serve as a working leader—able and willing to perform skilled tasks when required.
- Mentor and train field crews, including foremen, welders, and ironworkers.

Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in steel erection and fabrication, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or superintendent role.
- Proven track record on commercial, industrial, and/or government projects.
- Strong knowledge of steel fabrication processes, erection procedures, rigging techniques, and field welding.
- Ability to read and interpret structural plans, erection drawings, and technical specifications.
- Proficient in coordinating with multiple trades and subcontractors.
- OSHA 30 Certification (required).
- NCCER, AWS, or other relevant certifications (preferred).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to travel to job sites and work in varying field conditions.
