Caterpillar is seeking a Senior Supply Chain Manager in North Little Rock, AR. In this role, you will provide leadership and direction to supply chain teams responsible for the management of all facility supply functions.
What you can look forward to in this role:
- The Supply Chain Manager’s span of control includes supply chain processes, planning, material requirements, inventory management, demand and orders management and supply chain performance. Logistics planning and operation functions also report to the Senior Supply Chain Manager.
- As a member of the facility leadership team, you will provide input to facility goals, strategy development and yearly business planning.
- Accountable for development of the supply chain organizational design, key enterprise inventory metrics, prime product availability, etc.
- Ensures facility production schedules provide proper product availability to dealers/customers while balancing manufacturing constraint issues.
- Leads facility Sales and Operations Planning, ensuring robust process conformance.
- Works with product managers/global supply chain manager to ensure supply chain strategies are developed and aligned with worldwide sourcing strategies and provides inputs to supplier sourcing and resource management.
- Works closely with relevant functional areas and assigns resources to supply chain performance improvement projects.
- Responsible for all personnel issues and performance evaluation of direct reports, including development, capability building and succession planning.
- Responsible for compliance related activities for inventory management and inventory import/export controls. Participates and presents regularly in Compliance Council.
- Responsible for planning and execution of Logistics operations to manage components from dock to point of use, including returnable container management and dunnage removal to point of disposal or recycling.
- Manage efficient facility distribution operation processes which include but are not limited to receiving, storage, kitting, subassembly, order filling, packing, shipping, inventory counts, indirect supply scheduling, returns and related functions to provide shipping and receiving accuracy, inventory reconciliation and making decisions on defective material
A successful candidate in this role will showcase their skills in:
- Forecasting: Knowledge of forecasting tools, approaches and practices; ability to determine product demand and estimate production requirements and loads.
- Manufacturing Requirements Planning (MRP): Knowledge of the processes, practices and systems used in manufacturing requirements planning (MRP); ability to optimize planning for manufacturing cycles and ensure capacity and materials availability.
- Inventory Management: Knowledge of processes and methods of inventory management; ability to effectively manage organization's materials, commodities, merchandises, or products.
- Supplier Management: Knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge, experience and skills into real practice.
- Logistics Operations: Knowledge of Logistics planning and operations equipment, processes and strategies.
Top Candidates for this position may also have:
- Extensive, progressive leadership experience in a supply chain discipline
- Knowledge and experience with 6 Sigma
- Background in scheduling within complexity of attachments and/or internal value streams
- Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- APICS CPIM or CSCP National Certification
- Experience in purchasing, parts distribution and/or logistics
- Ability to establish and monitor policies and guidelines
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
- A degree in a manufacturing discipline
- Demonstrated capability to lead by influence and manage complex problems based on data and forecasts. Working well in a matrix organization.

Summary Pay Range:
$159,120.00 - $238,680.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
