Role Definition
The position is responsible for supporting Integrity Financial Reporting in compliance with local GAAP for medium to high complex legal entities, preparation of Financial Statements, coordination of PWC Audit process and responsible for other statutory and governmental reporting for LATAM entities. This position is part of the LATAM Statutory team.
What will you do:
- Preparation of Financial Statements and audit schedules needed for the Legal Entity to comply with regulatory requirements of the Local GAAP and other compliance obligations.
- Coordinate External Audit process. Understand and perform Audit adjustments based on Local GAAP differences and significance of the transactions.
- Support filing of statutory reports with assistance from legal teams, Prepare and coordinate Data Collection package for medium and high complex Legal Entities.
- Prepare complex Audit Schedules (Inventory, Fixed Assets, Intercompany, etc)
- Resolving audit questions and managing discussions with audit supervisors and guide other legal entity team members with respect to preparation and presentation of financials.
- Support Transfer Pricing compliance process.
- Act as backup for Region Controller for Canada and LATAM
Degree Requirement
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar career. At least 7 years of Knowledge in accounting or managing statutory audits.
Skills you will have
Effective Communications:
- Understanding of local GAAP accounting, tax and audit concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors to coordinate the External Audit and other Information requests.
- Communication in English with India COE or Global Tax team
- Prepare Presentations about External Audit Status and other topics.
- Collaborate with Business Operations / Accounting / Treasury/ Trade Compliance / Tax / Legal and other functional groups to understand and address critical decisions in the Statutory Financial Reporting
- Provide feedback to other operating areas regarding Audit findings.
Managing People:.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation (Data package, Audit Schedules, Audit requests, Tax Opinion, Audit Adjustments, etc)
Accounting:
- Knowledge of Local GAAP and preparation of Financial Statements (LATAM).
- Advisory to the business on matters concerning local statutory compliance (TP, Anti-money Laundering Law)
Financial Reporting:
- Knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems
- Knowledge of Transfer Pricing concepts.
Judgment and Decision Making:
- Capacity to adapt to a changing environment, new accounting principles, new transfer pricing compliance due dates and feel comfortable with the change
- Quick adjustment to new task or new LATAM countries responsibilities with a strong positive attitude.
- Disposition to listen to feedback.
Analytical Thinking
- Collaborate with Business Operations / Accounting / Treasury/ Trade Compliance / Tax / Legal and other functional groups to understand and address critical decisions in the Statutory Financial Reporting
- Coordinate with other functional groups to compile and review all financial information required for Financial Statements, Tax Opinion package and audit validations
- Resolving audit questions and managing discussions with audit supervisors and guide other legal entity team members with respect to preparation and presentation of financials.
- Support Other Local Compliances
Additional Information:
- The location for this position is Santa Catarina, NL
- This position will require 5% of the time travel.
- Work schedule: Monday – Friday
- English: Intermediate- Advanced
Top Candidates will have:
- Knowledge in accounting in Local GAAP is required
- Knowledge in SAP or other ERP is preferred
- Knowledge Big 4 firm preferred.
- Knowledge of Compliances relating to Taxes / trade /Currency will be an advantage but not mandatory
- CPA Certification desirable
