As a MineStar Performance Engineer or Manager, you will be at the core of both staffed and autonomous mining operations, partnering closely with customers to elevate safety, efficiency, and operational excellence.
This role sits within the MineStar Performance Center, with a key focus on optimizing the performance of MineStar Fleet and Command for Hauling applications across the region. You’ll work directly with customers, dealers, and internal teams to drive measurable improvements using data, assessments, and performance tools—and act on opportunities that unlock value.

What You Will Do
Support safe, effective performance for MineStar Fleet and Command for Hauling customers.
Lead and deliver Site Assessments, continuous improvement (CI) initiatives, and performance tool implementations.
Provide coaching and mentoring to Caterpillar teams, dealers, and mining customers.
Advise customers on operational best practices and CI opportunities to unlock higher performance.
Maintain and update operational documentation to reflect best practices and performance insights.
Collaborate with internal product, engineering, and support teams to enhance technology offerings.
Support both contractual and non-contractual customer performance commitments.
What You Bring
Safety Driven
A strong personal safety culture with the ability to influence safe behaviours across diverse mine sites.
Technical Excellence
Experience in surface mining operations
Knowledge of MineStar Fleet, Command for Hauling, or other mining technologies
Strong understanding of operational excellence and mining processes
Problem-Solving & Analytical Ability
Experience using performance improvement methodologies
Comfort working across diverse themes—data analysis, coding, validation, documentation, coaching, project management
Communication & Influence
Excellent interpersonal skills
Strong change‑management mindset
Ability to build relationships and influence customers toward improvement
Willingness to Learn
Preferred Qualifications
Degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Data Science/Analytics, or IT
5+ years OR 8+ years working in conventional or autonomous surface mining operations
Experience with mining technology systems or heavy mining equipment
Fluency in English considered an asset
Additional Information
Primary work locations: Brisbane or Perth, AUS
Travel required (25–50%) to Caterpillar offices and remote mine locations
