About this Position
The ACM Application Engineer for IPR supports the ACM IPR business across Southeast Asia. The solution portfolio includes Loctite Protective Coatings/Polymer Composites, CSNRI External Pipe Structural Reinforcement, and a broad range of infrastructure protection solutions from Seal for Life.
The primary purpose of this role is to provide technical support to the sales team for demand generation, applications/projects, and internal initiatives by delivering high-quality technical evidence and comprehensive solutions for ACM IPR partners and end customers. The role also manages and maintains ACM laboratory assets and supports laboratory engagement activities.
This position reports to the ACM Southeast Asia Application Engineering Manager and is based in Jakarta.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical application support to the sales team by recommending solutions, preparing samples/demo tools, and conducting experiments and customer trials to meet specifications and secure approvals.
- Collaborate with sales in group selling activities (e.g. plant surveys, workshops, seminars) at customer sites to drive demand and support project wins.
- Prepare technical calculations, material consumption estimates, and Pre‑Qualification Tests (PQT) for application and project proposals.
- Supervise on‑site applications, troubleshoot technical issues, and deliver clear, structured application and inspection reports.
- Plan, execute, and support lab‑based engagement activities (Distributor/Partner/Customer Training Schools, project‑specific trials), ensuring smooth preparation, delivery, and follow‑up.
- Manage ACM lab readiness, including product sample preparation, availability for trials and demos, and proper maintenance of MRO testing devices and equipment.
- Maintain high standards of 5S, cleanliness, and organisation in the ACM laboratory to support efficient and safe operations.
- Uphold laboratory safety together with other application engineers, including PPE compliance, safe lab practices, chemical handling, emergency preparedness, and regular safety walkarounds.
Other Responsibilities
- Support Marketing with technical input for trade shows, exhibitions, content reviews, and translation of technical materials (e.g., catalogues, flyers)
- Conduct product testing to support shelf-life extension recommendations where required
- Conduct technical inspections and validate customer complaints, ensuring they are handled and resolved appropriately
- Provide technical support and active participation in special projects and programs at regional and global levels
- Perform additional reporting and event support as required
