Caterpillar’s Electrification + Energy Solutions (E+ES) Division is looking for a Senior Validation/Test Engineer to support the validation execution across multiple new product development and new technology investigation projects. The successful candidate will assume responsibility for delivering successful validation plans for Battery System products and components that enable electrification-based solutions for our customers. Primary responsibilities will include developing product risk assessments (design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) DFMEA, validation test plans and product validation metrics for new product introduction and in-production product improvement projects.
Job Duties:
- Lead the execution of test plans for batteries systems within New Technology Introduction (NTI) and New Product Introduction (NPI) Programs.
- Collaborate with battery team members and other component teams, as well as internal and external test facilities, to complete component and pack validation and certifications.
- Support the FMEA and Validation Planning Workshop process.
- Maintain and regularly report out on product validation schedule and status to validation leadership.
- Contribute to the analysis of test failure discoveries and facilitate the verification of NPI issue resolution with design teams.
- Build relationships and leverage business unit and corporate validation experts
- Stay abreast of battery system industry product and testing trends.
- Champion our enterprise values, create vision and deliver on commitments
What you have:
Degree Requirement: Bachelor’s in accredited Engineering field, Mechanical or Electrical preferred
Technical Excellence: Industry experience planning and testing of complex systems. Battery pack/rack or similar electrical integration systems are strongly preferred.

• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Visio, Teams, SharePoint)

• Coordinates execution of test plans, including resources, strategy, schedules, processes and tools.

• Matches testing methodology and tools to product being tested; develops test scenarios and scripts.

Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing or product development environment.
Level Extensive Experience:

Desired Skills / Qualifications
- Fluent with Core International Standards for battery systems and machine integration. Examples include: IEC 60204, ISO14990, UL2580, UL9540A
- Training or understanding in regards to energized work and electrical safety practices.

Summary Pay Range:
$112,710.00 - $169,060.00
