Your Work Shapes the World at Caterpillar Inc.
When you join Caterpillar, you're joining a global team who cares not just about the work we do – but also about each other. We don't just talk about progress and innovation here – we make it happen, with our customers, where we work and live. Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.
Caterpillar is seeking a Digital Asset Management (DAM) Business Analyst to support our Marketing Content Product Management team and help execute digital initiatives to enable our business goals. In this role, you will play a key part in improving how internal teams and dealers search, manage, and use digital assets across our enterprise Digital Asset Management (DAM) system.
You’ll collaborate closely with business partners, product teams, and engineering to understand user needs, identify pain points, and translate insights into solutions that streamline the asset lifecycle. Success in this role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to think big picture, while appreciating why the smallest details matter. This position is essential to enabling faster, more consistent, and higher quality content delivery across Caterpillar.
As a member of the Digital Marketing Content Product Management Team, the DAM Business Analyst will play a strategic role in Caterpillar’s Content Supply Chain. This critical initiative is focused on driving projects that streamline marketing operations, improve data consistency across platforms, and enhance how we deliver content to our customers. Your work ensures asset workflows, metadata, and integrations across the Adobe application stack operate smoothly and efficiently.
Responsible for creating, analyzing and validating business requirements, translating them into detailed functional requirements and user stories, defining acceptance criteria and test cases, and tracking dependencies.
Lead the discovery process to capture, analyze, and document detailed business requirements, through interviews, workshops, and process mapping activities.
Define and refine the product backlog by collaborating closely with the Product Owner and Lead Librarian, translating high‑level epics and features into precise, sprint‑ready user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
Author user stories for engineering driven initiatives, ensuring technical enhancements are well‑scoped, testable, and aligned to product goals.
Project manage components of complex cross product initiatives, including prioritization, definition of user stories, and risk and dependency tracking.
Responsible, when necessary, for acting as Product Owner for larger, more complex projects with high value to the organization.
Bachelor’s degree preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
3+ years in digital product management, business analysis, user experience, user research, digital strategy, or related function.
Experience with documentation and diagramming tools (Visio, Lucidchart, Miro, Figma, etc.)
Detail oriented, well organized, and accountable, with a proven ability to maintain accuracy and consistency across multiple projects.
Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to translate business friendly requirements provided by key stakeholders into structured, technically sound requirements for development teams.
Knowledge of UAT activities, tasks, tools and techniques; ability to design, implement and evaluate acceptance tests for end-users.
Considerations For Top Candidates:
Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive, emotional, or potentially controversial situations effectively, particularly during periods of change management.
