The Platform Manager, Boomi is accountable for the operational health, reliability, and day to day execution of the Boomi integration platform across the enterprise. This role serves as the firm’s primary Boomi subject matter expert, ensuring the platform is stable, scalable, secure, and ready to support business demand for application integrations and managed APIs.
The Platform Manager executes platform standards and guardrails defined by Enterprise Automation Platforms leadership, partners closely with Digital Solutions, Architecture, and Security teams, and ensures operational readiness across environments. This role is responsible for both integration and API management capabilities within Boomi, ensuring consistent governance, security, and operational discipline across use cases. This role does not own solution delivery, but enables and governs delivery teams through standards, guidance, and operational readiness.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Platform Operations and Technical Leadership
- Own the operational execution of the Boomi platform across all environments, including configuration, monitoring, access models, and lifecycle readiness.
- Serve as the primary technical authority for Boomi, providing guidance on integration patterns, platform usage, and technical exceptions.
- Ensure platform reliability, performance, availability, and scalability through proactive monitoring, incident response, and root cause analysis across both integration workloads and API runtime components.
- Maintain platform runbooks, operational documentation, and support procedures to ensure auditability, operational consistency, and support readiness.
2. Governance Execution and Standards Enforcement
- Implement and enforce platform standards, guardrails, and patterns established by Enterprise Automation Platforms leadership for enterprise integrations and API exposure.
- Ensure consistent application of standards related to integration design, API usage, versioning, lifecycle management, and deprecation practices.
- Review and approve Boomi platform level changes to ensure alignment with security, compliance, architectural, and data governance expectations. Partner with Security, Risk, Architecture, and Data teams to ensure integrations and APIs meet firm policies, regulatory requirements, and approved access and identity models.
- Support platform lifecycle management including upgrades, feature adoption, deprecations, environment strategy, and evolution of integration and API capabilities.
3. Enablement and Cross Team Collaboration
- Partner with Digital Solutions, Architecture, and delivery teams to enable effective and compliant use of the Boomi platform without becoming a delivery bottleneck.
- Provide technical guidance, best practices, and troubleshooting support to teams building and operating integrations and APIs on the platform.
- Enable consistent onboarding and usage patterns for integration developers and API producers and consumers, promoting reuse, standardization, and scalable adoption.
- Collaborate with shared platform administration resources to ensure consistent execution of operational and governance processes as platform usage grows.
4. Camunda Backup Responsibilities
- Maintain sufficient familiarity with Camunda platform standards, operational processes, and current state to provide leadership coverage when required.
- Act as the platform Manager for Camunda during planned or unplanned absences of the Camunda Platform Manager, limited to operational decision making, incident support, and platform stability.
- Coordinate closely with the Camunda Platform Manager to ensure shared understanding of platform standards, cross platform dependencies, and current risks, without assuming delivery ownership or solution design responsibilities.
5. Continuous Improvement and Other Duties as Assigned
- Promote operational discipline, accountability, and platform ownership across teams interacting with Boomi.
- Identify opportunities to improve platform stability, efficiency, and maturity through enhanced observability, automation, and standardization of integration and API management practices.
- Monitor platform usage trends, performance indicators, and operational risks to inform continuous improvement efforts and platform roadmap priorities.
- Stay current on Boomi platform capabilities and industry best practices to inform platform evolution.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Hands on experience with the Boomi integration platform in an enterprise environment.
Preferred
- Boomi certification or demonstrated enterprise level Boomi platform experience.
- Certifications or training in IT service management, cloud platforms, or integration technologies.
TECHNICAL/SOFT SKILLS
Required
- Strong understanding of enterprise integration concepts including APIs, data transformation, event driven integration, and reusable integration patterns.
- Working knowledge of platform operations including monitoring, incident management, access control, environment management, and lifecycle readiness.
- Ability to evaluate technical tradeoffs and apply standards in a way that enables delivery while protecting platform stability and compliance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain platform standards and decisions to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical thinking, systems thinking, and structured problem‑solving skills.
Preferred
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, identity and access management models, and modern platform engineering practices.
- Experience with platform telemetry, observability, and automation of operational controls.
EXPERIENCE
Required
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant enterprise integration or platform experience.
- Minimum of 2 years hands on experience operating the Boomi platform in a production environment.
- Experience supporting production platforms with accountability for reliability, availability, and operational readiness.
Preferred
- 2 – 4 years of hands on Boomi platform experience in an enterprise environment.
- Experience supporting workflow or orchestration platforms such as Camunda.
- Experience operating platforms in regulated, audit sensitive, or compliance driven environments.
LEADERSHIP SKILLS
Required
- Strong ownership mindset with clear accountability for platform health and outcomes.
- Ability to influence and collaborate across architecture, security, engineering, and delivery teams without direct authority.

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
Compensation Range: $111,200 - $190,300
Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
