Job Description
The New York–based Network Correspondent is responsible for reporting on stories of national significance for Noticias Telemundo across the Northeastern region of the United States. The correspondent contributes to breaking news coverage, enterprise reporting, and exclusive interviews, delivering accurate, timely, and compelling content across television, streaming, and social media platforms. The role requires strong experience in digital-first, multiplatform storytelling and the ability to adapt content to different audiences and formats.
This position demands a solid journalistic background and the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines within a fast-paced and evolving newsroom environment. The correspondent must be available to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as dictated by news coverage needs.

Responsibilities:
- Provide daily coverage of news events, primarily from the New York bureau.
- Contribute to the day’s editorial direction by pitching story ideas, exclusive reports, and interview opportunities.
- Participate in breaking news coverage and special projects.
- Travel is needed to support news coverage.
- Demonstrate proficiency in using social media platforms for newsgathering, research, and content creation.
- Maintain a well-established network of contacts, including community organizations, business leaders, federal and local officials, and other media outlets.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, including weekends, early mornings, and flexible hours to accommodate last-minute scheduling changes.
- Operate under the guidance of the Vice President of Newsgathering and the Executive Producer.
- Collaborate closely with assignment editors, executive producers, and digital teams to ensure cohesive, multiplatform storytelling.
- This position is based on-site in New York and requires regular in-office presence to support newsroom operations.
- Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive, and accountable newsroom culture.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, Communications, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of on-air news reporting experience in Spanish.
- Experience producing digital video content in a newsroom environment is a plus.
- Proficiency in social media platforms and trends.
- Strong editorial judgment and news awareness.
- Demonstrated excellence in writing and storytelling.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines, availability to work early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Fluent in Spanish, written and spoken.Fluent in English
Desired Characteristics:
- Accustomed to working in a team and collaborating with all levels within the organization.
- Proven excellent interpersonal skills combined with a strong sense of how to visually tell a compelling story.
- Outside of the box thinker
- Proficient in I-News, Media Central helpful
