Purpose and Impact:
Amentum is searching for a Top-Secret cleared Solutions Architect to join our team in Vienna, VA. As a Top Secret cleared Solutions Architect for this program, you will be working in an organization that’s mission is to develop and operate the best possible software for critical national security enterprise applications. This organization leverages SCRUM and SAFE Agile software development methodology and strong Dev Ops practices.
You will be responsible for performing complex and advanced architecture work in design, evaluation, planning, testing and operation in support of system development, engineering analysis and research. You will lead in the integration of processes and methodologies to ensure the performance of the total system. You will work directly with senior technical personnel, program managers, and external organizations in the planning, oversight, execution, and evaluation of multiple complex technical solutions related to a program's system and technical product development. You will apply intensive and diversified knowledge of scientific principles and practices in broad areas across one or more technical disciplines. You will maintain a liaison role for technical matters with staff and customers and acts independently on technical issues within his/her field of expertise. You will support the ATO and accreditation processes.
Work Schedule: Typically, Monday through Friday 8-hour days onsite. Flexibility within a 2-week pay period to reach 80 hours.
Essential Responsibilities:
Performs complex and advanced architecture work in design, evaluation, planning, testing and operation in support of system development, engineering analysis and research. Leads in the integration of processes and methodologies to ensure the performance of the total system. Works directly with senior technical personnel, program managers, and external organizations in the planning, oversight, execution, and evaluation of multiple complex technical solutions related to a program's system and technical product development. Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of scientific principles and practices in broad areas across one or more technical disciplines. Maintains a liaison role for technical matters with staff and customers and acts independently on technical issues within his/her field of expertise. Will support the ATO and accreditation processes.
Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments. Plans and leads major technology assignments. Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success. Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments. May supervise others. Minimum of 8 years’ experience recommended. In absence of years of experience, certifications or past work may be used to show the level of experience needed to perform at this level.
A typical day in the life on this program involves:
- Lead the efforts of: design, develop, test, maintain and deploy new software applications
- Analyze and design new software solutions based on user and technical requirements
- Develop software in the AWS cloud
- Analyze existing architecture and new requirements and prepare technical recommendations
- Collaborate with cross functional teams
- Lead and mentor the technical DevSecOps team
Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- 7 years of experience collectively with the following:
- Developing, testing, and deploying back end software in a widely used programming language such as Java, JavaScript, Go, Python, Typescript, and .NET
- Developing, testing, and deploying Java software using the latest versions of the Java Development Kit
- Understanding system architecture and accessing vulnerabilities and plans to mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Experience implementing and using backend frameworks such as Java Spring, Nodejs, Go Gin, AngularJS, React, NextJS, Spring, Nodejs, NestJS, and Gin Spring, Google Web Toolkit, Hibernate, and Struts
- Experience with software development lifecycle processes to include Agile development
- Experience with Software design patterns and antipatterns
- Experience with Systems design
- Experience with development tools (Git, Nexus, SonarQube, JIRA, Confluence, Crucible, Jenkins, Ansible, Ansible Tower, etc.)
- Experience in frontend, backend and API design
- Experience leading multiple teams in technical design and implementation
- Experience in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and fixing technical, functional, and performance issues in a cloud environment
- Experience designing, planning and managing the data migration process
- Experience architecting and then implementing utilizing infrastructure as code (IaC) in a cloud environment utilizing terraform or another scripting language
Clearance Required:
- Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other related analytical, scientific, or technical discipline
- In absence of degree, additional years of experience may be substituted for educational requirements
Minimum Years of Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of Agile Principles
- Experience with the Atlassian suite of tools (Jira, Confluence)
- AWS Certifications Professional or Specializations
- Strong Oral and written communication
- Ability to represent our customer in a positive fashion including presenting to Government officials in leadership roles
- Experience designing, configuring and implementing AI technologies
- Scripting (Python, PowerShell, JSON, yml)
- AWS platform experience: GovCloud, C2S, & SC2S
- AWS experience: EC2, EFS, EBS, SQS, DLQ, Lambda, SNS
- Splunk monitoring, triggers, dashboards
- Experience with JIRA for development of requests, setting up triggers and SLAs, tracking of customer requests, reporting issues, requests for information, sprint planning and reviews, and tracking backlog items
- Experience with Confluence for reporting, planning, documenting user processes, storing internal system configurations, publishing roadmaps for executive management and outside stakeholders.

$195,000 - $210,000
