About the Job: Spend the summer interning in Caterpillar's Washington D.C. Government Affairs office.
Job duties may include, but are not limited to:
Developing a strategic plan for advocating a bill on Capitol Hill.
Attending Congressional briefings or hearings and writing a detailed report.
Researching data for a report on current and relevant issues.
Attending a strategy meeting with coalition groups advocating for new comprehensive policies.
Planning meetings, attending conferences or assisting in coordinating events with coalitions with similar goals.
Attending various events with policymakers and industry leaders.

Qualifications
Must be currently enrolled in a full-time, four-year accredited college or university or graduate school in one of the following degree programs: Political Science, Business, Communications, English, or Marketing.
Minimum 3.0/4.0 Cumulative GPA (no rounding)
Expected graduation: Dec 2026 and beyond
Proficient in Office 365 tools: PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, Yammer, Teams, etc.
Must be located: Washington, DC
Top candidates will also have:
Strong editing and writing skills.
Natural collaborator with outstanding interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
Interest in learning more about the U.S. political process and international policy issues.

Summary Pay Range:
$21.00 - $37.50
Intern Hourly Rate:
An intern's hourly rate is based on the major/degree being pursued and the number of completed academic hours achieved before the start of the internship.
