Description:The Banking and AP Controls Manager provides enterprise oversight and end-to-end accountability for the governance, execution integrity, and risk management of banking and payment operations within the Procure to Pay (PTP) function.
The role defines and executes the operating and control strategy for payment processing, supplier master data governance, and Accounts Payable (AP) control activities, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant PO and non-PO disbursements in alignment with enterprise standards, disbursement schedules, regulatory requirements, and working capital objectives.
The Manager oversees payment verification, reconciliations, exception management, and complex issue resolution, as well as nonstandard and site-specific AP and banking activities, including telecom payments and decentralized locations operating outside the centralized AP model. The role coordinates closely with banking partners and Treasury to ensure settlement accuracy, liquidity alignment, and timely resolution of payment execution issues.
A core accountability is ownership of supplier master data integrity and enforcement of segregation of duties across supplier maintenance, payment execution, and fraud review processes, strengthening preventive and detective controls and reducing exposure to error, misuse, and financial loss.
The role serves as control owner for AP and payment related controls, leading fraud, waste, and abuse oversight, initiating payment holds when required, supporting investigations, and ensuring alignment with SOX, Internal Audit, and external audit requirements to maintain compliance and audit readiness. Leveraging operational metrics, exception reporting, and risk indicators, the Manager proactively identifies control gaps, processing errors, and emerging fraud risks, translating insights into targeted remediation, policy refinement, process redesign, automation, and standardization initiatives that enhance accuracy, cycle time, transparency, and control effectiveness.
The role partners with Invoice Processing, Vendor Inquiries, Supply Chain, IT, and Treasury to translate finance strategy into a resilient and scalable payment operations model and to advance end-to-end PTP transformation priorities.
In addition, the Manager leads and develops staff across payments, controls, and site AP activities, fostering accountability, financial discipline, and operational excellence while strengthening enterprise financial control outcomes and organizational resilience.
