As the 2nd Shift Production Supervisor you will supervise the daily manufacturing processes in a safe and efficient manner to ensure product is shipped on-time and at a profit. Responsible for supervising, planning team support, schedule adherence and directing the hourly work force to achieve daily plans to satisfy customer demand.
The shift hours are 2:00 pm-10:00 pm with occassional weekend coverage.
What you'll do:
- Engage team members to be productive and quality minded
- Responsible for achieving daily and year end production goals
- Responsible for support of continuous improvements to enhance quality and productivity
- Assist in the development and implementation of training and work instructions to build awareness and competency of employees
- Interface with Engineering, Quality, Materials and Manufacturing teams to ensure processes are in accordance with approved data and specifications.
- Conduct Audits and Inspections of products to ensure quality standards are met
- Supervise hourly employees in accordance with policy and local Union/Management Agreement
- Required to aggressively engage in “Lean Manufacturing" initiatives through spot and planned “Kaizen" events and workshops.
What you'll bring:
- 5+ Years job related experience in a manufacturing environment (machining preferred) with Lean manufacturing principles and concepts
- 3+ years of people management experience in a manufacturing setting
- Excellent organization and employee development skills
- The ability to read, understand and interpret drawings and blueprints
- The ability to use quality gages, Calipers, micrometers
Also great if you bring:
- BS degree in Business Management, Business Administration or Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Supervisory experience in lieu of education
- Six Sigma Green Belt
This position is eligible to earn an annual performance based bonus of up to 5.5% of annual salary.
