About the Role
Quality Electric Inc., a leading large-scale electrical contracting organization, is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager (Purchasing Manager) to lead strategic sourcing initiatives and manage the acquisition of electrical materials and services across multiple projects. This role plays an essential part in protecting project margins, stabilizing material costs, and ensuring supply continuity in a dynamic market. The ideal candidate will be replacing a retiring employee as well as expanding the capacity of the department as our company continues to grow. The Procurement manager will report directly to the Vice President.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Procurement & Planning
· Develop and execute sourcing strategies for electrical commodities including copper/aluminum wire, conduit systems, switchgear, panels, lighting, and controls.
- Implement purchasing strategies aligned with company growth, project timelines, and budget objectives.
- Monitor market trends and commodity pricing to optimize buy timing and reduce exposure to price volatility.
Supplier & Contract Management
· Build, maintain, and negotiate strong supplier relationships to secure favorable pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
- Conduct supplier performance reviews using KPIs, audits, and scorecards.
- Ensure long-term vendor partnerships that support organizational growth and supply chain reliability.
Cost Control & Operational Efficiency
· Manage purchase orders, documentation, and approval workflows to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Implement cost‑saving initiatives without compromising safety or material quality.
- Perform spend analysis, supplier evaluations, and purchasing performance reporting.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
· Partner with project managers, estimators, and field teams to forecast material demand and prevent shortages.
- Work alongside operations to maintain accurate project material schedules.
- Guide and mentor a team of Buyers to ensure execution and alignment with procurement strategy.
Compliance & Risk Management
· Ensure adherence to company policies and all local, state, and federal procurement regulations.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to lead times, commodity pricing, and supplier performance.
- Maintain accurate documentation for audits and internal controls.
Key Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field;
OR 7–10+ years of progressive procurement, project management, estimating, or material leadership experience within the electrical contracting industry.
- Strong negotiation skills and commercial strategy capabilities.
- Deep understanding of electrical construction supply chains.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP procurement systems.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience guiding procurement teams.

Compensation & Benefits
· Salary: Dependent on experience
- Eight District Healthcare coverage for employee and immediate family (eligibility begins in the 3rd month)
- 401(k) with 4% match, 401k Roth, and up to 11% profit sharing (eligible after 1 year; enrollment Jan/July)
