This position pays an hourly range between $22.12 to $31.04 per hour. Work schedule: Wednesday - Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Job Summary:
This position is basic maintenance, service and repair to J.B. Hunt trailers, containers, chassis and other equipment. Under close supervision, you will conduct fleet maintenance to ensure that our equipment meets J.B. Hunt standards at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of preventative maintenance and standard repairs related to trailer equipment, including air brake systems and FHWA inspections
- Accurately perform basic repairs up to company and manufacturer’s specifications, complete work orders and demonstrate understanding of company requirements for standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelines
- Understand and effectively follow all shop safety procedures
- Maintain professional communication with J.B. Hunt personnel and customers
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 1 year of experience in semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalent
- DOT certified in FHWA inspections and air brakes
- Basic welding skills (MIG and stick )
- Able to supply your own basic tools, or purchase through our toolbox purchase program
- Willingness to work outdoors in the elements or work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends if needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- EPA section 608 certification and Refrigeration License
- Advanced welding skills (MIG and stick)
- Knowledge of ABS systems
- Ability to communicate (written and verbal) effectively
- Ability to fulfill physical requirements (lift/move appliance up to 50 lbs)
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to read documents and/or information in English
- Ability to wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE)
Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
