The Opportunity:
As the Senior IT Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the regional IT strategy and ensuring technology investments drive measurable business value across our Australian operations. Acting as a key strategic partner to business leaders, you will translate priorities into impactful technology solutions aligned with global and local IT standards and roadmaps. This role offers the opportunity to lead meaningful change by driving technology adoption and fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the region. You will serve as the critical link between local stakeholders and global IT functions, influencing outcomes and helping the business leverage technology to achieve its goals.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity and can be based in either Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane or Sydney.
The successful candidate must be eligible to hold an ASGVA security clearance.
Responsibilities:
Partner with business leaders to align IT strategy with regional priorities and deliver measurable outcomes
Translate business needs into scalable technology solutions aligned with global standards and roadmaps
Enable strategic initiatives (e.g. M&A, transformation) through effective IT delivery
Drive innovation through cloud, data, and AI/automation, championing agile and DevOps ways of working
Lead cloud architecture and migration initiatives across applications, data, and infrastructure
Support digital engineering and platform integration initiatives
Oversee IT planning, budgeting, and vendor management to ensure cost-effective and compliant operations
Ensure software licensing and asset management best practices across the region
Support business continuity and resilience planning
Manage IT governance, risk, and compliance, ensuring alignment with regulatory and security frameworks
Partner with Cyber Security to maintain a strong regional risk posture and ensure compliance (e.g. ISO, NIST, Essential Eight, ITAR)
Lead change management activities to support successful technology adoption and business outcomes
As the ideal candidate you will bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field
Extensive experience in IT leadership or business partnering roles
Experience within the Australian Defence, Government, or defence industry is highly desirable
Relevant industry certifications highly regarded (e.g. CISSP, CISM)
Experience across governance, compliance, and M&A environments
Familiarity with ITAR and working within regulated industries
Exposure to model-based systems engineering (MBSE), digital twin technologies, and engineering data integration
Strong ability to translate complex IT concepts into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders
Proven ability to influence, engage, and collaborate across diverse teams and cultures
Demonstrated experience leading and supporting organisational change initiatives
Knowledge of modern software development practices and enterprise IT architecture
Experience managing vendors, including selection, negotiation, and performance optimisation
Ability to obtain and maintain an an active NV2 Defence Security Clearance
