Internally, the Millennium job title will be Director of Quality and Safety. As the Company’s Director of Quality and Safety, you will be the leader assuring the company’s processes are geared toward building quality and safety into everything we do and that the finished products meet the standards that we have set and which our customers expect. We are looking for a leader, a good communicator, and a person that builds credibility and trust amongst our teams. Your role is primarily inward facing within the company, to help garner the resources that your team needs, to envision improvements that will make teams more efficient and effective, and then to work with the company to deliver those improvements to the benefit of all.
You will work with the Chief Engineer and VP of Engineering to ensure that design processes have quality “baked in” and that design for manufacturability is second nature to our teams. You will use your experience to work with the VP of Manufacturing to ensure that quality assurance is efficient, lightweight, and scalable to our growing build rate. You will work with the Director of Global Supply Chain to ensure that we have an effective and efficient supplier onboarding process, that specifications flowed to our vendors are correct, and that the materials we receive in return meet our needs. You will work across the company to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

Responsibilities
Be the reporting entity for the Quality System, Quality Assurance, and Safety staff
Work with your team to set up methods to properly monitor the status of discrepancy (non-conformance) reports and environmental, health, and safety (EHS) reports and determine if help is needed
Determine resource allocations to allow for efficient and scalable quality assurance and safety protocols in manufacturing, in receiving, and other locations as appropriate
Build metrics and reporting to provide insight into the status of quality assurance of our products and in safety
Provide teams and leadership with actionable summaries of trends or other issues
Identify and develop longer term initiatives to develop tests or acquire equipment to improve quality assurance and safety – follow the data
Find ways to make processes as efficient and lightweight as possible to allow for scaling to higher build rates
Be the master of the Quality Management System, working with all teams to ensure that our processes meet the AS9100 standard (as well as other requirements as appropriate) and they are represented in the QMS
Help staff lead investigations to drive to root cause of problems
Develop budgets and allocate for funding to drive process improvements and corrective actions
Run Kaizen Blitz events or similar for issues requiring focused attention to lean out or improve processes
Organize and assist with the auditing of processes to ensure compliance with appropriate standards
Represent the company before our customers, suppliers, or other stakeholders for issues related to quality and safety
Organize supplier quality processes and surveillance audits
Provide inputs to the maturation and development of the manufacturing execution system (MES) and product lifecycle management tools (PLM)
Develop training for teams
Hire team members and help advocate for staffing
Mentor quality engineers, quality inspectors, and safety personnel
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum 10 years experience in manufacturing and quality
Minimum 3 years experience supervising engineers or technicians
In depth knowledge of AS9100 or similar quality systems
First hand experience with quality audits
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.A final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required
Preferred Qualifications
Aerospace industry experience
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
Prior experience working with members engaged by a collective bargaining unit
Prior experience with Safety standards, metrics, or audits
Familiarity with Jira and the Manufacturo (manufacturing execution system [MES])
Experience with statistical process control

Summary pay range:Level L: $154,700 - $227,500
Millennium is DDTC-registered, ITAR-compliant Company. This position is located at a facility that requires special access. Applicants MUST be U.S. citizens and eligible for a security clearance.
