Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a full-time Early Career Manufacturing Engineer Associate to support production operations through a combination of engineering fundamentals and administrative execution. This role is ideal for a candidate who understands basic manufacturing principles but is equally comfortable managing data, creating reports, and supporting cross-functional coordination.
This position will play a critical role in enabling efficient production by maintaining accurate data, developing clear presentations, and leveraging modern tools—including AI—to improve workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support manufacturing engineering team with day-to-day operational and administrative tasks
- Develop, maintain, and analyze production metrics, trackers, and dashboards in Excel
- Create clear, concise PowerPoint presentations for leadership reviews and program updates
- Assist with documentation such as work instructions, process flows, and change tracking
- Coordinate across engineering, production, supply chain, and quality teams
- Track action items, risks, and schedule impacts across ongoing builds
- Utilize AI tools to streamline workflows, improve reporting, and automate repetitive tasks
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and basic root cause investigations
Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance.
Basic Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- Understanding of basic manufacturing principles (assembly processes, production flow, quality basics)
- US Citizen; Ability to obtain a government security clearance
Desired Skills:- Strong organizational and communication skills
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data analysis, pivot tables, formulas, dashboards)
- Proficiency in Tableau
- Strong skills in PowerPoint (executive-level presentations, data visualization)
- Familiarity with AI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, or similar) for productivity and automation
- Experience with manufacturing environments (internships, co-ops, or projects)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Basic Knowledge of mechanical/manufacturing tools such as torque wrenches, hand tools, multi-meters, etc.
- Basic knowledge of overhead cranes, lifts, robotic systems, etc.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
