Caterpillar’s Paving Products division is hiring an Engineering Manager at Brooklyn Park, MN facility!
Role Summary: Are you ready to drive innovation and shape the future of product development? Caterpillar Inc. is looking for an Engineering Manager to join our Paving Team. In this influential global role, you will lead a high-performing team to harness engineering talent, solve complex challenges, and deliver world-class paving solutions that exceed our customer expectations.
What You’ll Do (Job Duties)
- Lead a team of engineers and integrate specialists in the design and development of technologies, components, systems, products, or services for the Global Paving Product group while continuing to support core engineering activities.
- Empower, mentor, and inspire employees through effective team management while fostering their growth and providing expert technical guidance.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, leadership, customers, and suppliers and translate customer and management feedback into actionable tasks for the team.
- Skillfully interpret and convey customer, management, and team input, both verbal and non-verbal, to influence Paving product performance, process efficiency, warranty, and customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including commercial and product support teams to manage project timelines and contribute to the strategic direction of the division.
What You Have (Basic Qualifications)
- Degree Requirement: A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer/Computer Science, Robotics, or Ag Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university.
- Managing People: Demonstrated capability of defining how the team’s work contributes to the success of the organization. Strong skills in management of time and resources to balance execution of business needs and needs of the team.
- Technical Excellence: Strong working knowledge of Paving equipment design and Paving applications. Strong analytical skills and ability to gather and analyze requirements to understand Paving machine team needs.
- Effective communication: Demonstrated capability of delivering feedback and strong listening skills with the ability to adapt to the needs of others to convey understanding and direction.
- Project Management: Proven ability to perform complex assignments, directly related to either NPI or CPI and able prioritize workload, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills. Able to collaborate with international teams in various time zones.
Top Candidates Will Also Have
- Significant application knowledge of Paving Product’s Machines.
- Experience as an established, successful leader with demonstration of your capability to lead, motivate and influence directly and indirectly.
- Experience leading project engineering teams.
- Progressive experience developing Paving equipment including hydraulic, electrical, analytical and structural systems.

- Work location: Brooklyn Park, MN

- Travel: 5-10% as needed
- This position requires 5 days per week in the office (M-F)
Summary Pay Range:
$128,470.00 - $192,710.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
