Director of Workplace Services - JLL
What this job involves - The Director of Workplace Services provides strategic operational expertise and performance enhancements for JLL staff and vendors performing soft services. This includes, but is not limited to: GMP and Non-GMP janitorial, Pest Control, Landscaping, and specialized workplace programs. You will develop service initiatives, audit performance, and ensure all work is regulatory-compliant, budget-conscious, and executed with minimal disruption to Life Science operations.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Proactively manage client partnerships through clear communication, deep business understanding, and exceptional service delivery that meets KPIs and satisfaction targets.
Lead development and implementation of Action Plans based on client feedback to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
Champion a "Safety First" culture across all sites, clients, subcontractors, and visitors while serving as technical EHS subject matter expert.
Build and develop high-performing teams through skills assessment, competency development, and fostering inclusive, collaborative environments across direct and indirect reports.
Maintain primary accountability for GMP and Non-GMP Janitorial and Pest Control programs ensuring regulatory compliance and rigorous quality standards.
Lead service scope transitions, change-control procedures, and Business Continuity Planning across the network while supporting GxP/EH&S mandates.
Identify and implement sustainable "Green Cleaning" initiatives and procurement practices aligned with client ESG goals.
Manage soft services operating budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions without quality compromise.
Leverage CMMS platforms and data analytics to drive proactive decision-making and communicate action plans to account leadership.
Oversee subcontractor management, procurement compliance, and support negotiation of high-value service contracts.
Required Qualifications:
Education: BA/BS in Engineering, Facility Management, Business, or a related discipline.
Experience: Minimum of seven (7+) years of management experience in soft services, vendor management, or employee experience programs.
Sector Expertise: Proven experience in Pharma, Biotech, or Life Science sectors governed by GMP/GxP regulations.
Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in office software and experience with CMMS (e.g., SAP, Maximo) for data reporting.
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate risks and trade-offs to high-level stakeholders
Leadership: Demonstrated experience in change management and delivering learning/development programs (soft skills, leadership, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional certifications such as FMP (Facility Management Professional), CFM (Certified Facility Manager), or PMP (Project Management Professional)
Experience implementing workplace experience programs and employee engagement initiatives
Experience with change management methodologies and organizational development principles
Location: South San Francisco, CA (Ability to travel up to 25% of the time to assigned sites)

Estimated compensation for this position:
160,000.00 – 200,000.00 USD per year
This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
