Assembly rejections, including parts not fitting properly and other non-conformances found on finished and painted parts.

Specification violations related to NDT processes, welding, heat treatment, shot peening, electroplating, grinding of coatings, embrittlement bake, stress relief, incorrect or expired coatings, paints, sealants, etc.

Out of tolerance, excessive taper and/or out-of-round outer diameters and inner diameters.
-
Undersized lug thicknesses, slot dimensions, lug walls, etc.
-
Mislocated features, true position deviations, lack of parallelism, excessive TIR, poor symmetry and other geometric deviations relating to common Landing Gear components.

Provide coverage on weekends, holidays, and off-shifts per a pre-established schedule when required.
What You Will Learn:

Landing Gear functionality, assembly, and testing

Elements of Landing Gear Materials and Processing Engineering, Design Engineering, Stress Engineering and Performance Engineering

Rework and Repair of Landing Gear components and expertise in authoring detailed instructions that restore parts to a Flightworthy condition

Lifecycle of Landing Gear (from initial manufacture through to Operation in Service)

Detailed manufacturing steps for common Landing Gear materials (High Strength Steel, Aluminum, Titanium, Corrosion-Resistant Steel, etc.)

MRB Engineering roles and responsibilities within the Material Review Board and Collins Landing Gear Quality Management System
Qualifications You Must Have:
-
Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).

U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
Qualifications We Prefer:
-
MRB Engineering experience (or similar; such as Design/M&PT/Stress) in an Aerospace manufacturing environment.

Experience with GD&T definition and interpretation of applicable inspection data, able to read and interpret engineering drawings/models (2D and 3D).
-
Experience with manufacturing processes of aerospace materials.
-
Familiar with PLM and ERP systems such as SAP and Teamcenter.
-
Good understanding of computing tools and programs including the use of Microsoft Office and Windows.

Experience with CATIA V5.

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
