Position Overview
As a Software Test Engineer, you will oversee definition, design and execution of comprehensive test strategies to ensure the highest quality of our software products. You will collaborate closely with developers to identify, report and troubleshoot bugs while contributing to an automated testing framework initiatives. This role is critical to ensuring the successful implementation of advanced simulation technologies that enhance Navy training capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Activities:
Develop test plans and schedules capturing strategy to ensure quality assurance of our visual simulation software product line.
Develop test procedures providing traceability to system requirements.
Generate test reports and document issue artifacts for correction by our development teams.
Review system requirements holistically to ensure compliance as components are modernized and tactical systems are upgraded.
Collaboration and Coordination:
Coordinate with internal and external teams to identify optimal test strategies throughout each software development release cycle.
Travel to integration and testing sites, as well as fielded trainer locations, to support installation, testing, and training events (estimated travel: 10%).
Required Education
Required Experience
U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for a U.S. Government granted security clearance. Interim Secret security clearance required to begin employment.
At least 5 years of experience in software testing.
Experience testing in Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
Comfortable working in Linux and/or Windows environments.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Proactive mindset with the ability to influence complex projects and products.
Strong knowledge of QA methodologies: automated/manual testing, system, regression, UAT.
Desired Experience
Experience with engineering tools such as Jira, Confluence, GitLab, and Xray.
Keen eye for identifying edge cases and potential vulnerabilities
Experience with automated testing tools.
Experience with Jenkins pipelines, containerized test environments, and automated regression runs.
Previous experience in game quality assurance
ISTQB/ASTQB certificate

Pay Range:
Pay Range $73,450.00 - $132,775.00
