What You Will Do
The Customer Experience Team Graphic Design Intern will support a range of growth‑focused initiatives for our Sustainable Infrastructure business, designed to increase brand awareness, generate demand, and enable sales through compelling, customer‑centric messaging and graphic design creation. This paid, summer internship offers hands‑on experience supporting the graphic design needs of a billion dollar business unit. The intern will work closely with marketing, sales, and subject‑matter experts to translate customer insights and messages into clear, effective visual communications that drive engagement and measurable outcomes.
How You Will Do It
In this role, you will support the graphic design needs of our customer experience, marketing, learning and development and sales teams potentially including but not limited to…
- Provide concepts, graphic design, illustrations, animation, interactive designs, and videos to aid in the visualization of data portrayed in proposals, presentations and related materials for internal and external customers; both print and electronic mediums
- Support the visual enhancement of PowerPoint decks, both internal and external, while maintaining the corporate brand and bringing the content to life
- Aid the learning and development team by creating visuals for instructional packages, teaching videos and training activities
- Use your creative design skills to complete customer experience projects such as special logo designs, banner creation, posters and other promotional materials
You will also engage with other interns throughout the company as part of our internship development training program which culminates in a competitive small group team project.
What We Look For
- Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communication, marketing, communications, business, or a related field (or equivalent experience in a design‑focused role)
- Demonstrated interest or foundational skills in graphic design and visual communication, including creating layouts, graphics, illustrations, or visual concepts for digital and print materials
- Ability to translate ideas, data, or customer messages into clear, engaging visual stories for presentations, proposals, training materials, or promotional assets
- Experience or strong interest in designing and enhancing presentations, documents, and other collateral, with attention to layout, hierarchy, and visual clarity
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and common business tools (MS PowerPoint, Word, Excel); experience with animation, video, or interactive design tools is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain design ideas and incorporate feedback from marketing, sales, and subject‑matter experts
- Customer‑focused mindset with the ability to consider audience needs, pain points, and context when creating visual content
- Proactive, self‑directed work style with good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously
- Curiosity and willingness to learn new design tools, digital platforms, or AI‑enabled solutions in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment
- Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and adapt designs based on constructive feedback
- Portfolio or work samples (academic or personal projects) demonstrating visual design skills are preferred but not required
HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $19.00 - $22.00 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
