Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Orion, MI on a full-time basis.
The Role:
The Maintenance Planner will be responsible for collaborating with a group of UAW skilled, hourly workers to troubleshoot and repair complex equipment and processes. Candidates must possess technical expertise to oversee and support maintenance operations, exercising independent judgment within the framework of Global Manufacturing Systems, with a focus on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE)
Selected candidates will gain the chance to develop new skills while contributing to the advancement of manufacturing processes.
What you'll Do:
- Support Functional Leader in the organization and running of the business (staff meetings, special assignments, etc.)
- Execute the portfolio/business planning process
- Manage and plan assignments along with priority goals and requirements in the preparation of difficult projects
- Develop and maintain the project business cases (deliverables, benefits, timing)
- Analyze execution of Functional initiatives versus the Functional Business plan
- Interpret complex quantitative and qualitative data and recommend solutions to unusual problems
- Manages budgets
- Execute the Functional competitive assessment process
- Collect and analyze key operating metrics for the group
- Handle a variety of special assignments
- Develop and conduct presentations for all levels of management
- Cover for the maintenance group leader’s absenteeism.
Required Qualifications:
- Technical degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related experience
- 5+ years of experience in automotive maintenance, with a strong background in Body Shop operations.
- Experience reading and understanding electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic blueprints
- Interest in solving complex problems and working in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills, experience managing conflict and decision making.
- Demonstrate a high analytical ability to solve complex problems.
- Basic computer proficiency (i.e., Microsoft Word, typing, email, etc.)
- Must be willing to work weekends, overtime and any of the 3 available shifts.
