Overview
We are looking for a reliable and experienced Lead to ensure all facility operations follow policies and procedures. They coordinate daily operations by delegating job assignments and providing guidance. A Lead provides supervision at an assigned location when the Manager is not present. The Shift Leader demonstrates established standards to keep the buildings/facilities clean and safe for all workers and customers. This role involves operating specialized equipment, handling cleaning chemicals, and supporting general janitorial duties as needed.
- Operate equipment as needed (i.e. forklift, tugger, compactor, baler, etc.)
- Assist with management of general trash, cardboard recycling, wood pallet waste, IBC Tote, manifested and miscellaneous waste.
- Collect orange and blue trash hoppers when full, haul to trash room and empty into proper compactor. Return to department.
- Collect green cardboard hoppers when full, haul to trash room and load into baler. Return to department.
- Operate cardboard baler when full and ready to make a bale. Assist with tracking inventory and scheduling of pick up. Load carboard trailer and collect paperwork as needed.
- Schedule and execute cleaning around all compactors and baler machine monthly.
- Pick up pallets, wood waste, and load trailer as needed. Assist with tracking inventory.
- Collect IBC totes and load trailer as needed. Assist with tracking inventory.
- Collect and properly handle manifested wastes (i.e. hazardous waste, non-hazardous waste, universal waste, used oil, etc.), Assist with moving, storing, labeling, and loading waste.
- Inspect and restock environmental spill kits (monthly) and assist with outside emergency cleanup (i.e. fuel and oil spills).
- Assist supervisor with donation items and shipments.
- Ensure chip room loading area is clean and maintained inside and outside, as needed.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and cleanliness of waste storage area/canopy.
- Assist with inventory management of empty containers (i.e. drums).
- Distribute containers specifically for waste in response to departmental requests.
- Move empty oil product drums from draining area to outside empty drum storage area.
- Assist with collection and disposal of aerosol cans and batteries.
- Collect and dispose of walkway trash and outside the building trash twice a week.
- Meet with supervisor daily to go over daily work schedule and assignments.
- Employees will report to this position who will in return report to Supervisor.
- Assist Supervisor with weekly schedules.
- Inspect all forklifts and tuggers weekly and fix or report issues to be fixed.
- Assist Supervisor with training and educating all new hires on job procedures, safety and equipment.
- Learn basic Supervisor position to cover while supervisor is out.
- Other assigned duties or tasks
Payrate $20.00 per hour.
