Job Summary
This position offers an excellent opportunity to support critical accounting and payroll functions related to union operations within a dynamic hospitality environment. The role requires a detail-oriented professional who can manage multiple financial processes simultaneously while ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Working in a hybrid setting, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing payments, and providing essential support for union-related financial requests. This position demands strong technical skills, the ability to work independently, and a solid foundation in accounting principles to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Upload and post journal entries into PeopleSoft
- Prepare and process payment requests, including wires, ACH, and check payments
- Assist with account reconciliations using Blackline
- Compile and organize financial support documentation to send to unions
- Run and review weekly payroll reports
- Support special projects, including reviewing Collective Bargaining Units for each hotel during downtime
- Ensure liability accounts reflect correct balances and comply with accounting standards
- Work across multiple datasets and files simultaneously with a high level of accuracy
- Be available for occasional weekend work, typically the first weekend of the month for a few hours
Skills
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, including proper treatment of liability accounts
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables
- Experience working with accounting systems such as PeopleSoft
- Familiarity with Blackline or similar reconciliation tools
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and files at the same time
- Comfortable working independently in a remote/hybrid environment
- Ability to work effectively across multiple monitors and datasets
