Role Definition
Own the end‑to‑end domain and product architecture for the TechAdvisor platform—ensuring the system is scalable, secure, cost‑efficient, and operationally reliable. This role defines the architectural direction for TechAdvisor, translates product and business requirements into robust cloud-native designs, governs HLDs and LLDs, and partners closely with Product, Security, and Product Support to ensure production readiness, observability, and long‑term maintainability.
Responsibilities
- TechAdvisor Architecture Ownership: Own the internal technical design and system integrity of the TechAdvisor platform, ensuring robustness, scalability, availability, and security.
- Product-Aligned Architecture: Work closely with the TechAdvisor Product Owner and business stakeholders to translate product vision and requirements into clear architectural designs and decisions.
- High-Level Design (HLD): Create and maintain HLDs for TechAdvisor components and services, explicitly addressing scalability, performance, cost, security, and non-functional requirements.
- Low-Level Design (LLD) Governance: Review LLDs submitted by delivery teams to ensure architectural integrity, adherence to standards, and alignment with product and enterprise architecture directions.
- Integration & Dependency Design: Define and manage technical integration patterns with upstream and downstream systems, ensuring stable APIs, contract clarity, and future scalability.
- Performance & Scalability Optimization: Identify architectural bottlenecks across services, integrations, and data layers; drive design improvements for performance and efficiency.
- Observability & Operational Readiness: Define monitoring, alerting, and health-check standards for TechAdvisor; ensure services are observable, diagnosable, and support-ready.
- Product Support Collaboration: Partner with Product Support to establish monitoring dashboards, alerts, runbooks, and escalation mechanisms to minimize downtime and MTTR.
- Cloud Cost Governance: Monitor TechAdvisor cloud spend, optimize resource usage, and influence architecture decisions to ensure predictable and cost-effective operations.
- Security & Compliance Alignment: Work with Security teams to ensure TechAdvisor architecture meets security baselines, compliance requirements, and risk management expectations.
- Technical Leadership & Mentoring: Conduct architecture and code reviews, provide technical guidance, and mentor engineers to uphold engineering and architectural best practice
Degree Requirement
- 10+ years of experience in software/system architecture for distributed systems.
- Proven hands-on experience designing and operating systems in AWS and Azure at production scale.
- Strong proficiency in Java and modern service-oriented or microservices architectures.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, real-time data processing, and non-functional requirements.
- Strong experience with API design and integration (REST/SOAP/GraphQL).
- Experience designing for production operations, monitoring, and incident response.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- AWS and/or Azure certifications (Solutions Architect level preferred).
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native deployment patterns.
- Understanding of DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging frameworks.
- Strong database design and performance tuning experience (SQL optimization, partitioning, sharding).
- Prior experience working closely with Product Support or SRE teams.
