Lead and supervise all tunnel excavation activities, tunnel lining installation, grouting operations, and monitoring programs.

Ensure all work is completed safely, to quality standards, and in accordance with project requirements and schedule.

Provide constructability input to designers and support the development of technical solutions for tunnel works.

Oversee the preparation, accuracy, and timely submission of construction records and documentation.

Develop and implement work procedures, work plans, and shop drawings; initiate corrective actions when operational limits are approached.

Maintain continuous presence in the mined tunnel during shifts and direct tunneling operations.

Coordinate daily with Project Engineers, fellow Tunnel Superintendents, survey teams, instrumentation specialists, subcontractors, and client representatives.

Ensure all equipment operators, mechanics, and crews are properly trained, certified, and equipped to perform tunnel support and lining activities.

Direct and support tunnel surveyors and collaborate with instrumentation specialists to maintain accurate field data.

Manage job‑site operations within assigned areas, including activities of the joint venture, subcontractors, suppliers, and client representatives.

Plan and coordinate temporary construction facilities and ensure compliance with the Zero Accidents safety program.

Review design documents to identify constructability improvements and potential cost or schedule impacts.

Implement progress reporting processes and control expenditures for labor, equipment, materials, and services.

Monitor equipment utilization, maintenance, and tool management; approve requisitions for tools and consumables.

Develop labor and equipment forecasts and ensure craft jurisdictional assignments comply with labor agreements.

Supervise all personnel within the assigned area and coordinate multi‑discipline craft activities on large or medium‑scale projects.

Provide technical and administrative direction to operators, laborers, surveyors, electricians, engineers, coordinators, and administrative staff.

Lead overall planning and scheduling to ensure timely and cost‑effective project delivery.

Coordinate administrative, engineering, and construction functions and ensure contracts are kept current with change orders.

Ensure compliance with local legislation, company policies, project procedures, and union agreements.

Review and approve cost reports, ensuring accuracy of projected job profits.

Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.

Mentor technicians and engineers; recruit, hire, and supervise staff and subcontractors.

Support the Project Manager with additional assignments as required.

Develop and implement quality control programs, policies, and procedures.

Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate daily operations and prepare required reports.
