As a world-wide leader in printing technology, HP develops, manufactures, and supports numerous classes of Industrial Digital Printing products utilized in the Graphics marketplace. HP Industrial Print sells and supports the hardware (i.e., HP Indigo Digital Presses, HP PageWide Web Presses, etc.) and their corresponding services and supplies to Print Service Providers, who in turn sell their services and items produced to nearly every company in the world that needs any kind of printed product, such as Labels and Packaging, Corrugated Packaging, Publishing and Direct Mail, General Commercial Printing, Photo, Signage, Point of Sale, etc.
Summary Statement
As part of the HP Industrial Print Sales Operations team, the Paralegal Contracts Specialist/Consultant will manage the contracting process for capital equipment sales transactions by working with internal and external customers to draft and negotiate appropriate contractual language to reflect the business interests and policies of HP for non-standard RFPs and contractual requests. Interfacing with customers and members of the Legal, Financial, Global and Regional Business Unit, Service, and other stakeholder teams to bring deals to closure. The Paralegal Contracts Specialist/Consultant will be a critical part of a high-performing team.
Responsibilities
Manage the full contracting process for complex deals/strategic customers, analyzing business, financial, and legal risks, including developing and communicating creative solutions and mitigation strategies for key negotiation points with customers, and drafting and negotiating appropriate contractual language to reflect the business interests and policies of HP.
Negotiate directly with customers and third-parties to reach mutually acceptable contract terms, including communicating with internal stakeholders to provide visibility on, and approval for, custom terms and non-standard offerings.
Ensure compliance with audit, financial (e.g., Sarbanes-Oxley), and system requirements and assist in resolving post-execution non-standard contract modification requests and disputes.
Guide planning process for prioritizing deal support in working with senior sales and business leaders and implement Graphics sales strategy to focus on high value activities.
Act as key advisor to senior sales and business leaders in the Industrial Print organization on contractual and legal issues related to sales activities. Provide mentoring and coaching for other Sales Operations team members on contracting best practices.
Develop, maintain, and manage HP Industrial Print contract template library, and coordinate with IT and Operations teams to implement and maintain contract templates in CPQ platforms and supporting tools.
Provide overflow/backup support for Bid Desks during peak periods and vacations.
Education & Experience Recommended
Bachelor’s degree in United States Paralegal Studies/Legal Studies, US Business Administration, or International Relations.

- Advanced degree in the above preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience managing customer-facing contracts and negotiation of capital equipment sales or enterprise account contracts
Deep understanding of contract construction theory, key US/Canadian laws, policies, processes, and applicable practices
Understanding of HP products, service offerings, and capabilities, and can articulate accompanying risk profiles and unique US contracting requirements
Proven ability to negotiate and close significant multi-business unit deals representing product and service offerings with complex terms and conditions
Ability to influence different functions and geographies and build consensus where lines of authority may not be direct, both inside and outside HP
Capable of presenting or escalating issues effectively to regional sales and business executives
Expert skill level in Microsoft Office. Fluency in document automation techniques, logic, and implementation preferred
The pay range for this role is $93,400 to $143,800 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
