Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s Long Beach CA Vehicle Distribution Center (LBVDC) is looking for a passionate and highly motivated EHS Analyst.
The primary responsibility of this role is to support facility safety and environmental needs through the administration of and commitment to our comprehensive safety and environmental systems and programs.
Reporting to the Regional Safety Manager, the person in this role will support both Toyota’s Safety and Environmental Departments’ objectives to promote and lead the implementation and sustainment of the Safety, Environmental, and Hazardous Material programs at the Long Beach Vehicle Distribution Center.
What you’ll be doing
Safety
Identify, anticipate, and act upon safety and environmental concerns, hazards, exposures, and unsafe practices.
Guide, lead, support and promote the implementation and sustainment of the Toyota Safety Management System.
Guide, lead, support and promote the implementation of regional safety standards and programs.
Serve as a critical member of the Operational team (Production, Support, HR, etc) to meet these objectives.
Liaison, communicate and respond to EHS regulators and agencies for the Port of Long Beach, other local entities, the State of California, and Federal agencies.
Guide, lead, support and promote various safety culture activities and initiatives.
Conduct, communicate, and track various EHS trainings.
Prepare and present reports to and for Site Leadership team.
Support incident investigation and follow-up activities and objectives.
Support the safety (including ergonomic and industrial hygiene) risk elimination or reduction in actual or potential hazardous situations, through risk assessment processes.
Prepare and complete safety reports for site and regional Safety needs and requests.
Environmental and Hazardous Materials
Co-ordinate, report, and support site regulatory Toyota Environmental and Hazardous Materials standards, regulations, goals, and programs: including recycling and hazardous waste and hazardous materials DOT shipping and receiving.
Administrative
Support and manage the site safety budget.
Comply with federal, state, and local safety regulations.
Prepare for and participate in facility audit inspections.
What you bring
Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of equivalent professional work experience in a Safety role in an Industrial, Logistics or Manufacturing Environment.
Safety and Environmental Hazard Risk Assessment experience including applying assessments to production and/or working floor situations and utilizing data analysis to address and solve safety hazards.
Experience with safety and/or environmental audits and inspections and then demonstrated experience acting on the results.
Experience conducting Safety and Environmental training.
Experience working independently and as a member of a team.
3 years of experience developing and delivering presentations (PowerPoint), generating effective reports (Excel), conducting applicable standards research.
Written and verbal communication experience and skills.
Added bonus if you have
Associate Safety Professional (ASP)/Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent
Master’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Fire Science, Industrial Engineering, Public Health, or equivalent degree
Experience with Safety or Environmental Management System platforms or applications, such as Intelex, Serenity, Cority, and/or Human Tech Ergonomic, or others.

The annual base salary range for this position is $82,700.00 - $134,400.00.
