KBR is seeking a Senior Director of Capture to serve as a senior growth leader within KBR’s Business Development organization, focused on large, complex, mission-critical Federal Civilian and Space-related programs. This role is designed for a proven capture executive with demonstrated success shaping, capturing, and winning $100M–$1B+ programs, and leading enterprise-level growth strategies across multiple agencies and contract vehicles.
The Senior Director of Capture will operate as both a hands-on capture leader and strategic growth partner, responsible for building and executing winning capture strategies while helping shape KBR’s long-term growth priorities.
Primary work location is Fulton, MD, with flexibility for remote work based on location.
Expected travel: 20–40%, primarily to customer and partner locations.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Capture & Growth Leadership
- Serve as Capture Executive for KBR’s largest, most strategic pursuits, including prime, full-and-open, single-award opportunities valued at $100M–$1B+
- Own and lead the end-to-end capture lifecycle across multiple simultaneous pursuits, from early shaping through proposal submission and award
- Translate enterprise and BU growth strategies into actionable capture plans, win themes, and discriminators
- Shape opportunities early by influencing customer requirements, acquisition strategies, and contracting approaches
Pipeline Development & Opportunity Shaping
- Lead development and execution of a robust, multi-year pipeline, including qualification, prioritization, and win-probability assessment
- Drive disciplined opportunity qualification and win-ability assessments aligned to KBR’s strategic growth objectives
- Guide capture teams in understanding customer missions, pain points, funding profiles, and decision drivers
Capture Execution Excellence
- Develop and execute comprehensive capture plans, including customer engagement strategies, competitive assessments, teaming strategies, and price-to-win
- Lead capture governance activities including gate reviews, Black Hat, Blue Team, solutioning sessions, and proposal reviews
- Oversee development of RFIs, white papers, CSOs, OTAs, and full proposals across traditional and alternative acquisition vehicles
- Ensure disciplined application of KBR capture best practices, tools, and artifacts
Leadership & Executive Engagement
- Brief capture status, risks, and recommendations to senior KBR leadership at key milestones
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executives on growth strategy, customer positioning, and investment decisions
- Mentor and develop capture managers and growth professionals across the organization
- Collaborate closely with operations, finance, contracts, pricing, and technical leadership to deliver integrated, executable solutions
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience); advanced degree strongly preferred
- 20+ years of experience across capture management, business development, operations, or strategy roles within government services
- Demonstrated success winning large, prime, single-award contracts valued at $200M+, including services, mission support, engineering, or technology programs
- Proven leadership of enterprise-scale pipelines ($500M–$1B+) and complex, multi-agency pursuits
- Deep understanding of Federal Civilian agencies, including space, science, infrastructure, defense-adjacent, and mission support organizations
- Experience operating within a mature, industry-leading capture organization
- Strong financial acumen, including BOE/LOE development, indirect rate considerations, and margin management
- Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with senior government officials, industry executives, and internal leadership
Desired Experience & Attributes
- Experience supporting civil space, science, engineering, facilities, cyber, or mission operations programs
- Background in both services delivery and enterprise growth strategy
- Proven ability to lead transformation, integration, or modernization initiatives
- Experience with alternative acquisition methods (OTA, CSO, hybrid vehicles)
- Executive presence with the ability to operate credibly at board, C-suite, and customer leadership levels
- Track record of building and leading high-performing, cross-functional teams

Basic Compensation:
$236,900 -355,400
The offered rate will be based on contract affordability and the selected candidate’s working location, knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience, and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
