KBR is looking for a Health, Safety, & Environmental (HSE) Sr. Specialist to support the OMES III contract primarily in support of NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) I&T Complex operations.
The HSE Sr. Specialist will maintain, update and administer the Safety, Health, and Environmental Program in accordance with requirements of the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 (OSHA), and customer (NASA) requirements. While ensuring compliance with all local laws, and corporate and/or other regulatory agency requirements and that all requirements of the Safety & Environmental Programs.

- ***Must have valid state Motor Vehicle Operator License***
- ***Must be able to obtain a finding of ‘NO RECORD’ on the FBI Police Record Investigation***
- ***Must be able to obtain and maintain a NASA Access Badge***
Responsibilities:
- Ensure implementation of HSE policies, procedures, and programs
- Monitor compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations
- Promote a proactive safety culture for employees and subcontractors in the I&T Complex
- Assist in investigating incidents that occur in the I&T Complex
- Conduct periodic safety inspections of the I&T Complex
- Provide safety indoctrination and education for all employees (including subcontractors)
- Coordinate, conduct, and track safety-related training and certification for employees and subcontractors in the I&T Complex to include medical surveillance where applicable (i.e., crane operations, forklifts/aerial lifts, manlift, etc.)
- Collaborate with operations to identify hazards and improve safety performance
- Provide HSE guidance to employees and subcontractor personnel as required by corporate and customer directions
- Ensure employees and subcontractors have access to personal protective equipment for tasks (hearing protection, eye protection, etc.)
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- BA degree in safety or environmental engineering, health education or related field or comparable professional experience
- 6+ years of related experience
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and all other safety related federal, state and local requirements
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and industry best practices
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environment
- Ability to comply with all established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position
Experience and/or Education in lieu of these qualifications will be reviewed for applicability to meet these requirements.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Basic Compensation:
$101,600.00 - $152,300.00
The offered rate will be based on contract affordability and the selected candidate's working location, knowledge, skills, and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
