Job Summary
The Transport Liaison Coordinator is responsible for supporting and coordinating patient transport activity between hospital transfer centers and Air Methods’ Communications Center. This role serves as an operational liaison to facilitate timely, efficient, and protocol-aligned patient movement by assisting the Transfer Center Coordinators by initiating the flight request to the appropriate communications center, monitoring transport status, and communicating updates throughout the transport lifecycle. The position ensures accurate documentation within Flight Vector and other designated systems, analyzes transfer center data to identify trends and improvement opportunities, and collaborates with internal stakeholders to enhance coordination, service delivery, and patient outcomes. The role operates independently while aligning with organizational goals and reports to the Sales Enablement Manager.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:
- Serve as a liaison between hospital transfer centers and Air Methods communications center to facilitate timely and efficient patient movement.
- Monitor and review patient movement within the hospital transfer center and ensure appropriate mode of transport is followed based on mutually agreed upon protocols.
- Support initiation of air transport requests into Air Methods communications center.
- Monitor and communicate air transport status updates with the transfer center with status updates throughout the transport process.
- Accurately document status updates using Flight Vector or other designated systems, ensuring data integrity and operational transparency.
- Analyze transfer center data to identify trends and opportunities for optimizing transport decisions, with a focus on process improvement and positive patient outcomes.
- Operate independently while aligning with organizational goals and collaborating with the Sales Enablement Manager to support strategic initiatives.
- Contribute to process improvements by identifying inefficiencies and recommending solutions that enhance coordination and service delivery
- Build and maintain strong relationships with hospital partner and internal Air Methods stakeholders, provide an elevated level of professionalism and customer service
- Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One (1) to two (2) years’ experience with medical terminology used by EMT or CAN, preferred
- Healthcare background, ideally in patient transport or hospital transfer centers, preferred
- Familiarity with Flight Vector or similar systems, preferred
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present information clearly and professionally
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment

- Experience in process improvement and change management initiatives
Computer Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Experience with data analytics tools and reporting platforms
- Familiarity with Flight Vector or similar transport coordination systems preferred
- Comfortable learning and navigating new software platforms and databases
