Position Summary: KBR has an immediate need for an energetic and dynamic Security Analyst to join the Information Technology Services Team. This position will support the EROS Center to provide information security best practices to users and science organizations. This full-time opportunity will provide the applicant with relevant information security experience with progressive responsibilities. The work will include information assurance, system compliance, continuous data monitoring, and maintaining/enhancing the overall Center security posture for the various missions of the EROS (Earth Resources Observation and Science) Center (http://eros.usgs.gov/), located near Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Education: Minimum of an AA in Computer Science; BS/BA preferred
Experience: College graduate or equivalent; however at the hiring manager’s discretion, work experience may be substituted for education.
Core Responsibilities:
- Investigating virus and malware alerts to determine origin and frequency
- Researching information security solutions.
- Testing multi-factor and encryption technologies
- Reviewing security log files
- Attend department meetings to address security issues and solutions
- Confirming and/or researching system compliance
- Participate in information security related reviews
- Ensure proper processes are followed and documentation is properly maintained
- Perform analysis of problems (root cause analysis)
- Other information security related duties
Required Skills:
- Excellent writing skills
- Basic information security / information systems methodology knowledge
- Knowledgeable with security control standards
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Willingness to learn
Desired Skills:
- Unix/Linux knowledge
- Scripting knowledge
The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a national agency check and background investigation after hire to obtain a badge for facility access and user accounts.
Special Requirements
- Three years of continuous U.S. residency for government security credential.
- Experience and/or education in lieu of these qualifications may be considered.
