We’re looking for an Accountant to join our team supporting Research and Engineering as part of our Large Power Systems Division (LPSD) at Caterpillar.
As the R&E Accountant, you will be responsible for providing month-end support, analysis of results and back-up support for COE during ABP cycle. This position will also provide support for our engineering teams, maintain our local R&E reporting tool and enhance our Power BI reporting.
What You Will Do:
- Provide R&E support to engineering teams with regards to results, forecasting and tool support.
- Assist with R&E tool maintenance, enhancements and reporting.
- Provide insights into financial R&E results on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
- Support monthly R&E rolling forecasts.
- Implement new reporting and analytics to continuously improve business partnering as well as accurate reporting.
- Complete and assist with ad hoc reporting and analysis requests, including tax surveys.
- Assist with annual PAC2 Freezes, Grief and Job Set Up as back up to COE during ABP Cycle
What You Have:
- Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
- Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
- Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
- Financial Reporting: Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports.
What Will Set You Apart:
- Demonstrates initiative, good judgment and accountability
- Strong communications skills with a passion for asking questions and suggesting improvements
- Strong analytical skills to perform detailed financial analysis
- Experience in creating Power BI dashboards
- Experience or familiarity with Axiom
Additional Info:
- Location: Mossville, IL
- This role requires 5 days a week in office

Summary Pay Range:
$89,210.00 - $133,810.00
