Who we’re looking for
Toyota Financial Services Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Area Sales Manager for the Southeast II Territory (covering western PA). The candidate would be based out of the Pittsburgh, PA area.
This role will report into the Portfolio Sales Manager. The primary responsibility of this role is to grow the business across Toyota’s three product areas through existing business and potential opportunities (e.g., expanding share, insurance products). Maintain existing business, leverage internal resources and expand business based on designated territory. This role supports a portfolio that includes TFS, requiring an understanding of the specific criteria and metrics relevant to the portfolio.
What you’ll be doing
Drives TFS business by influencing the General Manager Sales, dealer principal and dealers to recommend TFS loans, selling new insurance products, and managing the full sales cycle for wholesale loans
Conducts monthly business reviews with sales team (up to Regional Portfolio Manager level) and with dealer principal, business owner or responsible executive to understand business need, strategic goals, and performance for dealerships; uses tracking and analytics to monitor sales objectives against sales forecasts by dealer and by territory
Identifies and pursues opportunities from dealers, sales team members, etc. and serves as the “quarterback” coordinating internal TFS resources (e.g., Product Manager, Portfolio Sales Manager, credit, funding, wholesale departments) to meet dealer needs while trying to increase TFS profitability
Plan dealer strategy with Product Manager and drive internal team execution of income development opportunities at dealers
Meets with dealerships to provide relevant TFS information on insurance products, loan promotions, and market share
Partners with Portfolio Sales Manager to determine go-to market strategy for dealers within territory; discusses progress during weekly check-ins with the Portfolio Sales Manager
What you bring
Minimum 4 years of experience in a captive finance and/or insurance environment
B.A./B.S. degree or equivalent work-related experience
Understanding of captive automotive finance business and dealership financial services products, services, operations with focus on sales, finance, and insurance
Ability to articulate value of TFS products and services, conduct sales calls, identify/close business opportunities
Automotive dealer contact experience
Ability to build relationships with a broad audience both internal and external to TFS
Strong organizational and stakeholder management skills
Strong verbal, written, and analytical skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
Most be willing and able to travel up to 75% of the time; including overnight travel at times
A motor vehicle record that’s acceptable by company standards is required for this position
Public speaking and presentation skills
