Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking an Flight Operations Airline Support Engineer (Mid-level or Experienced) to join our Flight Operations – Customer Support team in Seal Beach, California.
The successful candidate is a qualified and highly motivated individual who will support safe, efficient, and compliant flight operations of the Global Boeing fleet. As part of the Flight Operations – Customer Support team you will manage complex work in a fast paced and multifaceted environment and have the opportunity to work with both internal and external stakeholders to deliver world class support to our airline customers and the flying public.
Position Responsibilities:
Researches and responds to technical questions related to Airplane Performance, Performance software (PET, OPT, performance database), AFM, FCOM, ETOPS and Weight & Balance
Provides guidance to resolve a wide variety of flight operations issues, service problems, and continued airworthiness concerns
Offers ongoing support, provide consultation and guide customer accounts related to new airplane model introductions and fleet utilization optimization
Provides proactive support to customers on current flight operations issues through conferences, symposiums, and other methods
Travels up to 10%
The selected candidate will be required to work 100% onsite in Seal Beach, California. Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
5+ years of engineering experience
Ability to travel domestically and internationally
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
9+ years of engineering experience
Experience in Airplane Performance, Aerodynamics, Flight Operations Engineering, Flight Operations Support, Aero Fleet Support, Aero Sales Support, Electronic Flight Bag, OPT Administration, Stability & Control, Airline Operations
Experience with aircraft performance data, including takeoff, landing, en-route, driftdown, and terrain clearance performance
Experience developing engine-out procedures and emergency escape routes
Familiarity with Boeing weight & balance and flight operations engineering products and documentation, such as PET, BCOP, OPT, AFM, FCOM, and MMEL
Ability to develop and implement operational policies
Strong communication and presentation skills
Customer satisfaction mindset
Typical Education/ Experience:
Mid- Level (Level-3)
Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Experienced (Level-4)
Bachelor's degree and typically 9 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 7 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years' experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range Mid-Level (Level 3): $126,900 - $155,100
Summary pay range Experienced (Level 4): $154,800 - $189,200
