What to expect: At KBR, the Project Services Intern will gain hands-on experience supporting the estimating, procurement, planning, cost, progress, and performance management of large-scale EPC projects. This internship is designed for high-potential students or recent graduates seeking a technical foundation in project controls and exposure to how data, governance, and disciplined processes drive successful project delivery.
The intern will work alongside experienced project controls professionals supporting live capital projects and will develop practical skills in estimating, procurement, scheduling, cost control, earned value management, forecasting, and performance reporting within a structured, mentored environment.

• Understand the end-to-end EPC project lifecycle from a Project Controls perspective
• Learn how schedule, cost, progress, risk, and change are integrated to support management decision-making
• Develop practical skills using industry-standard tools and reporting frameworks
• Build a strong foundation for a future career in Project Controls, Project Management, or Estimating at KBR
Early Career & Internships New | KBR
Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Planning & Scheduling
• Assist in developing and maintaining integrated project schedules using Primavera P6 and/or MS Project
• Support schedule logic development, baseline setup, and progress updates
Cost Control & Forecasting
• Support project budget setup, cost tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis
Progress Measurement & Earned Value
• Assist in progress measurement and Earned Value Management (EVM) analysis
Change, Risk & Governance
• Support change tracking, risk registers, and project controls reporting
Estimating Support
• Assist with quantity take-offs, cost build-ups, and estimate reviews in support of project and proposal estimating activities
• Support cost benchmarking using historical project data and market intelligence
• Participate in estimate reviews, scope clarification, and value engineering discussions
Supply Chain & Procurement Interface
• Support coordination between Project Controls and Supply Chain teams for cost, schedule, and progress alignment
• Assist with tracking procurement milestones, vendor deliverables, and expediting status
• Help integrate procurement data into project schedules, forecasts, and performance reports
• Support analysis of procurement impacts on cost trends, cash flow, and project risk

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
Education
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred
Skills
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Exposure to Primavera P6 or MS Project is an advantage
