Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Deputy General Manager -Finance (Manager Accounting) to join our Period Tower - Analytics COE -Global Finance Services Division Team.
Reporting to the Analytics COE Director, the Business Manager, Finance – Analytics COE is a senior finance leader responsible for leading value creation initiatives across Caterpillar businesses. This role combines strong financial leadership, business partnership, and enterprise perspective to deliver measurable outcomes over the long term.
The initial assignment for this role will be to serve as the CFO for the Undercarriage Tractor Parts (UTP) joint venture, providing hands‑on financial leadership to meet business goals. Following this assignment, the role will continue within the Analytics COE, leading and supporting additional enterprise value creation projects.
The preference for this role is to be based out of Whitefield Office, Bangalore OR WTC , Chennai India
What you will do
Initial Assignment – UTP CFO Support
- Serve as the primary finance leader and business partner for the UTP joint venture during the initial assignment.
- Provide CFO‑level leadership across financial reporting, forecasting, compliance, governance, and performance management.
- Partner closely with UTP leadership and Caterpillar stakeholders to manage cost structure, operational efficiency, and profitability.
- Operate effectively in a joint‑venture and minority‑ownership environment, influencing outcomes through credibility, judgment, and collaboration.
Enterprise & Value Creation Focus
- Lead and support value creation initiatives across Caterpillar businesses, including performance improvement, cost optimization, margin analysis, and operational decision support.
- Partner with business, operations, supply chain, tax, legal, and strategy teams to deliver enterprise‑aligned financial outcomes.
- Translate complex financial analysis into clear insights and actionable recommendations for senior leaders.
Leadership & Team Development
- Effectively lead and influence diverse, cross‑functional teams, often without direct authority.
- Contribute to talent development, succession planning, and capability building within the Analytics COE.
Model strong enterprise leadership behaviors and reinforce Caterpillar values in all interactions

- This position requires candidate to work a 5-day -a -week schedule in the office.
What Will Set You Apart
- Experience supporting complex businesses, joint ventures, or matrixed organizations, particularly in manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Demonstrated success driving measurable value creation initiatives (cost, margin, working capital, or operational improvements).
- Ability to balance hands‑on execution with strategic leadership
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with senior leaders and diverse stakeholders.
- Experience working in or with a center of excellence or enterprise finance organization.
Additional Information
- This role is based in the Analytics COE.
- The initial assignment will be the CFO supporting UTP; subsequent assignments will focus on long‑term value creation projects across the enterprise.
- This role is based in Bangalore or Chennai with 25% travel expectation in order to be on-site with UTP in Kolhapur, India
