Caterpillar’s Sanford, NC facility is the company’s global source for compact track loaders—handling everything from design and fabrication to full assembly and testing. It has grown into a major manufacturing hub with more than 2,000 employees and over 420,000 machines produced to date.
We have multiple openings for a 2nd and 3rd Shift Logistics Production Manager at our Sanford facilities. In this role, you will lead a team in improving processes and systems and the manufacturing of the products produced in the facility. You will oversee and coordinate the activities of a complex production line, prepares schedules, resolves issues, and ensures adherence to safety and quality standards.
What you can look forward to doing in this role:
Monitors and improves warehouse safety, aggressively eliminates unsafe processes
Ensures production material is procured and distributed to meet production schedules
Increases production efficiency through continuous improvement and waste elimination
Determine overtime needs and priorities when resources are insufficient.
Ensures preventive maintenance is performed according to schedule
Implements, Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, Internal Certification, and others
Actively deploys section value stream improvements
Develop and deploy standard work for each work area
Practices and teaches CPS Guiding Principles
Initiates and conducts process improvement dialogs with Team Leads and Team Members
Drives root cause corrective action projects and continuous improvement
Leads section status reporting and monitors / audits section metrics
Leads the creation, implementation and training of standard work procedures
Manage outbound shipments for multiple customer types, including processing, systems, and required documentation for overseas shipments
Report section status and monitors and audits related metrics
A successful candidate in this role will showcase their skills and have:
Performance Management: Knowledge of successful performance management techniques; ability to apply organization's performance management system, practices, and tools to developing and improving individual, team, and organizational performance.
Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.
Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Top Candidates for this position may also have:
Experience in Manufacturing, supply chain or warehouse operations
Experience in leadership within manufacturing environment
Good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and customers.
Additional Information:
The primary location for this position is Sanford, NC.
The shifts available are either Four- 10 hour shifts or Five- 8 hour shifts.
There is an 8% Shift Premium for 2nd & 3rd Shift roles.
The first few weeks of training will be on 1st Shift from 600AM-400PM

Summary Pay Range:
$89,210.00 - $133,810.00
